this is something i've been wondering about for quite some time. when i saw wendy was writing WLMC, i suggested she incorperate it, but she didn't feel it would fit in. i don't have a place for it. she suggested i post it as a stand-alone, if i couldn't write something around it.
i decided to post it as a challenge.
here's how it goes. i'll post what i've got, and you guys reply with whatever ideas you have for lois's response. comments are, of course, also welcome.
"Miss Lane?"
"Yes?" Lois replied, turning to face the amazing stranger who had just lifted her (and the Messenger) into orbit. She was still trying to come to terms with the knowledge that a single person was capable of doing anything so... so... words failed.
"I was wondering..."
"Yeah?"
"You know this is a colony ship, right?"
"Yeah."
"You know it's supposed to be the last part of the station, right?"
"Yeah."
"And you saw that there weren't any wings on it or anything?"
"Yeah...."
"So, you must have realized that the messenger was intended to stay in space...."
"Uh..."
"And you know that the next launch isn't scheduled for another 6 months?"
"Er..."
"So, how, exactly, were you planning to get back down?"
