Hi LadyTpower!
With that news in the back of their heads, they had adopted her older brother CJ.
I wonder how they managed to not make Daddy disappear too obviously and how long they waited to tell him just who his adoptive father is. That is, I’m guessing they adopted CJ when he was a couple of years old, otherwise, Lois got pregnant just before she was 40 and they got lucky really late in the game.
Chelsea had always been a happy child, a little bit of daddy's little girl but all of that changed a few days ago. The youngest Kent became withdrawn not the happy child they knew so well.
Oh boy, teenage superpowers manifesting!
She didn't want to talk about
Did she see her parents?
it because she was sure that her father would hate her if he knew that she gained the ability to see through walls.
Yes, she did!
CLARK:
LOIS: What? Where did she think that she came from?
There could be only one reason in her mind how that was possible, her father wasn't her father but Superman was.
Oh, that one. Yes, that’s certainly been a staple with the Kent kids.
Superman was a friend of the family she knew that but she would never have thought that her mom would have cheated on her dad.
Well, she just needed a viable donation and decided to get it the old-fashioned way. Cute how she jumps to *that* conclusion instead of simply that Superman made an official donation
She didn't want to be the reason for them to file in a divorce.
That could lead to awkwardness! Especially when she runs across Superman, e.g. he does a don’t-have-sex talk at her middle school.
Chelsea sighed, “Please don't hate me but I'm a freak, I am gaining Superman's powers. I discovered a few days ago that I can see through walls.”
Right about now, Clark should be freaking out
His daughter was shocked, she hadn't suspected that this would be happening.
“I DON'T WANT THOSE POWERS, I WANT TO BE NORMAL LIKE MOM!” she yelled and ran upstairs towards her room.
Teenagers!
"But dad, I gained powers like you? Do I need to be Supergirl? Can I still think with my heart and be myself or do I have a bigger calling?"
Very mature observations. She even picked out a name. I’m not so sure she’s not up to the idea after all.
That was adorable
I also like the more cleaned up writing style and formatting of this ficlet. It makes it so much easier to read and your stories deserve to shine!
