Wrong Place, Wrong Time, Wrong Clark TOC can be found HereHow's that for ? While looking for images of lava lamp pens on Google, I came across this image: (The old link to the Superman Lava Lamp has disappeared ). How's that for cheesier? At least, Lois's lava lamp pen didn't look like this. Comments always appreciated. Please donate all tomatoes to your local food bank.

Arrrgh. Clark tried soooo hard tell her and she just kept steam-rollering over him.
But, awww, how sweet he couldn't actually break up with her. I love Clark. (oops did I say that out loud, don't tell my husband).
Please, please, please get them back together soon!

Guilt wasn’t a feeling she liked. It meant that she had done something wrong. She also felt a twinge of guilt for what she would have to do while undercover, but only a twinge. She figured Clark deserved it. After all the times he had left her in the dark, he could stand in it for a while himself. She decided, though, that the least she could do was wait to tell Clark that they would have to once again slow down their relationship due to her kiss with Superman, and due the mountain of guilt she felt about that, until at least the day after his birthday and until he had found his memories. I think that last part should be "due to the mountain". I have really bad feelings about this. Why do they both have to come up with such bizarre ideas. However I have to say I have more sympathy and understanding of Lois's plans to this point than Clark's. At least she has been wronged by him. Clark, not really at all by her.

Arrg. That was frustrating. Oh well I guess the curse is still on too. Too bad.

I am because that was way, way, way, way better than I thought it would be. I was hoping Clark would manage to tell Lois that he was Superman, so he could know that she knows, but I really did not expect that. I have to say I am not 100% sure if I believe Lois' description of the events. Either way I am convinced the curse does not apply, so I wish she would just let Clark think they made love. “I can’t do this,” Clark said, wincing and dropping his fork to his plate with a clatter. That she can forget that detail, even for a moment shows that they really have a chance to be a solid couple at some point. It was another one of those questions to which she didn’t have an answer. She could ask him. See Lois, if you let him know you know, you could learn about him so much faster. She had called Clark at work an hour before, letting him know that Henderson had tentatively identified Clark’s assailant as Joe Rory, a two-bit freelance muscle. I like this added detail. It makes stories so much fuller to have names of characters. Clark had said he was just finishing his exclusive Superman interview. Lois:There he goes lieing to me again. I should keep a close count of how often he lies to me. He volunteered to add her name to his byline of the attack story and shoot the final version over to Perry with Joe Rory’s name attached. Did she accept this? Clark then asked if he could pick up dinner and meet her at her apartment, because they needed to talk. She had said ‘yes’. they are going to talk. OK, I would not be able to be happy about it unless I had read through the whole part. Maybe they did not say what I wished they would say, but it was so much better than I feared, that I have to

Lois refused to feel guilty about that. For one, Clark hadn’t been alone; he was with Cat. Secondly, he had Superman’s body, even if he didn’t have Superman’s memories. He could easily take care of himself, and thankfully, the assailant didn’t have Kryptonite on him. I am surprised she does not include point 3, that Clark had insisted she leave, vigorously. Also point 4, it was Cat who let the intuder in, not Clark. Thirdly, she had picked up Clark’s gift in Washington, D.C. after President Garner had delayed their interview for several hours. she did remember his birthday. Unfortunately, Lois had felt guilty about the way she had treated amnesiac Superman on the roof when he returned from dealing with Nightfall. I am glad she feels bad about it. It was quite cruel. She felt bad about dashing his pride for taking care of such a big problem without having his memories to guide him. He was cute like a puppy and not to blame for a mindful Clark’s repeatedly lying to her. Plus, he did try to tell her repeatedly, she just kept cutting him off. Guilt wasn’t a feeling she liked. It meant that she had done something wrong. It can also be the first step to doing better in the future. She also felt a twinge of guilt for what she would have to do while undercover, but only a twinge. Now I wonder if things will happen close to canon. Of course, knowing that Lois is undercover, and not really in love with Luthor will make things more bearable. She figured Clark deserved it. After all the times he had left her in the dark, he could stand in it for a while himself. I would agree with her maybe, except this is a Clark from another dimension who has already been through so many tough times. Although this did just cause me to come up with a good question. What is the official reason for Wells chosing when he did to bring Clark to this dimension. Wouldn't Wells plan had had more chance of succeeding if Clark had shown up later when Lois had been more hardened by negative events? She decided, though, that the least she could do was wait to tell Clark that they would have to once again slow down their relationship due to her kiss with Superman, and due the mountain of guilt she felt about that, And she expects Clark to buy that reason, instead of just telling her he is Superman and so she has no reason to be guilty about it. until at least the day after his birthday and until he had found his memories. If Clark was not planning to brake up with her, I would be really worried about this.

She hated that she had actually cheated on Clark on his birthday, But does it really count if she cheats on Clark with Clark. of all days, despite the fact that the man with whom she had cheated on him was Clark himself. You know, this is one aspect of the love triangle built for two they never really expored in canon. I have to say though this is much preferable to Scardino being a distraction. Sure, she could also argue that it technically wasn’t Clark’s actual birthday, but the birthday of the Kents’ child. But it is his birthday. I guess she does not know that. Who knew when Clark’s real birthday was, or if Krypton’s calendar years were even in the ballpark of Earth’s or calculated in the same way, since it didn’t circle around this sun? None of those facts eased her guilt any. that Lois does not know more of Clark's background. Today was the date Clark had chosen as his birthday when he arrived on Earth, I don't think this is true on any level. Although the choice of this day is somewhat arbitary, it's not likely the Kent's could be exact on his age, it was not him who chose it. On the other hand, when he arrived on this earth, it was already chosen for him. She should have remembered it was Clark’s birthday and mentioned it to him the night before as another reason for him to kick Cat out of his apartment and let her stay. not going to have that horrible conversation yet. more kissing. I am getting in the last chances to be glad before it ends for a long time. “What? You thought I forgot?” she teased, heading into her bedroom. Lois:Just because I have not wished you happy birthday yet, despite having already seen you today, does not mean I forgot. Lois to herself:OK, maybe during the three times I saw him earlier today I was not thinking it was his birthday, but still. You were the one with amnesia, Chuck, not me.” I like her humor. Plus she is calling him Chuck. She left the big wrapped gift inside and took out the smaller one. she got him two gifts. The big gift could wait until after she finished her investigation. Now I am really going to have to stick with this story to find up what the big gift is. OK, I doubt I would ever give up on the story, but there is lots more suspense now. She knew she couldn’t make love to Clark tonight, and then tell him they needed to slow down their relationship tomorrow. Yep, somehow I doubt she would be able to give up on being with Clark after that. Not only would he think that she really didn’t love him and was only after his body, That would only happen if she could will herself to do such a thing. but she didn’t think she would have the inner strength to do that to herself, let alone him.
Or that much resolve to not be with Clark in that way once she had experienced it. OK, maybe she has that much resolve. The emotional weight on both of them would be horrendous.
“Yes.” Clark flushed. “I mean, thank you.” At least he managed to thank her. For a bit I was afraid he would lead into his rejecting her speech. “That’s better. It’s not much, but…” She shrugged. “I wanted to get you a tracking bug, so you’d know that I would always know where you had run off to, but I didn’t have time to get it.”
His eyes opened wide and he gulped. more kissing. I guess my expectation of no kissing for a while was premature.

Clark’s stiff posture relaxed a bit, so she brushed his lips with her tongue. One thing is for suce, Lois and Clark are a lot closer here than they ever were in canon season 1. He opened his mouth, inviting her inside, and Lois tightened her arms, pulling him closer. And how do either of them expect to "brake up" anytime soon if they are going at it like this. She forgot how addicting Clark’s kisses were, she is still sitting on his lap. Clark cleared his throat. “So, you meant the kissing?” Maybe she should have given him lap-dance kissing, and then he would have assumed she meant more. “I know we did some kissing before we got back together at the Lexor Suite, but I don’t think we could really consider it a major part of our relationship until recently,” she said with a chuckle. Clark:We did plenty of kissing at the beggining of the month. Lois:True, but then you decided I didn't really mean it. Clark:Sorry I brought that up. Lois:Well, I might forgive you, if this time you believe I mean it.

He gulped, and she saw his gaze dart away from hers and down her body for a split second. “My gift?” Oh, I was so hoping he would go for the possible meaning here. “Right, my gift,” he said. Lois:This would be so much fun if I was not about to brake up with him for his own good. Lois could tell he was distracted from most everything else with her so close, and she decided to press her advantage. “Unless you want to kiss some more?” Sounds like a good plan. “Uh-huh,” she murmured, resting her lips to his and kissing him again. more kissing. This is so much better than I thought this part would be. [Quiote]She bet. Being that Clark actually was Superman would mean he'd have ample opportunities to test the claims of the pen’s manufacturer.
I was going to wonder if this might give away that she knows. However since she did not know when she bought the pen, I doubt it. Lois gave him a soft kiss and jumped to her feet. more kissing. We have exceeded Season 1 canon kisses in just this part. I just went and learned we are in a new story arc, that is evidently about to finish. That is inpressive that you cut ASU into two story arcs. Although this is technically later than anything in ASU. “I do have another gift, which I bought first, she is going to give him the big box. but I thought it was a little silly, and…” Or maybe not. "Silly" does not sound like her other reactions to it. Clark needed her to get the man who tried to kill him behind bars and the Kryptonite disposed of safely. She really is dead set on breaking up with him for his own good. Lois wouldn’t be able to do that with Clark holding her back, and she knew if he knew what she was doing, he would try to stop her. I guess I have to concede she has a point there. She needed to keep her thoughts and emotions hidden; This whole plan just does not seem a good idea. knowing that if he wanted to, Clark could easily glance through the wall and see her having an emotional breakdown. Clark:I would never invade Lois' privacy like that. Lois:So you have never looked at me through a wall. Clark:Well, OK, maybe once, but I really try not to. Lois:So you would do that. Clark:Not any more. Should he be gentlemanly enough not to do that, he would be still be able to hear her. I guess she has a point there. Therefore, she had to calm herself while under disguise of searching for this ‘other’ gift, and do so silently. So this gift is really the same gift, not another gift at all.

Lois tore through her bedroom, looking for the gag gift she had found at the novelty shop before discovering the Space Pen. Clark:Now I feel real bad, she got me three gifts and I only got her one on her birthday. Lois:How do you know about the third gift. Clark:This is the cheat converesation section that has only the qeakest link to reality. “Not that I ever need something to remind me of you.” I just love this line. which I somehow knew would be the perfect gift for you… Lois:Even before your most recent trip to space. Clark:What? Lois:I mean, even before your most recent experience of spacing out and forgetting things. but until then, I kept looking and looking. I know it’s because I’ve never had to find a gift for a man with whom I’m in a relationship because I’ve never dated a man who’s had a birthday. Well, of course, they all had birthdays, Clark:Lois, your babbling, lets kiss some more. but never while we were dating, and what do you give to the man whom you want to show how much you love him without flowers, hearts, pink fuzz, stuffed animals, or bubbles? Although, the lava lamp does kinda have bubbles. I know when I first saw this pen, I could picture that expression in your eyes when you gave me my lava lamp and how you make me feel every time we kiss, because my insides turn to liquid goo like the inside of a lava lamp and…” He will be all when she breaks up with him, unless he does it first. Oh, this is such a crazy story. Clark cleared his throat, cutting off her babble. I was hoping he would kiss her to stop the babbling. The heat in Clark’s eyes combined with his words once again dissolved her kneecaps and Lois was ever so glad Clark was already holding her. It wasn’t until Lois felt her kitchen floor firmly below her feet again that Clark drew slightly back from her. “Lois, I need to know exactly what happened at the hospital.” Why doesn;t he just trust his gut feeling and move forward?

“Huh?” Lois mumbled in a dazed sort of manner, as if he had melted her insides into free flowing hot lava, in the good way, with that kiss. Oh Clark, you lunkhead. Trust your instincts, don't listen to Herb's misdirections. It had been the first time he had kissed someone and let his guard down enough to reveal himself. I guess that is true. Lana knew he could float before he did. It wasn’t how he planned to tell Lois that he was Superman, After he cutting him off mid-sentance at least twice, it might be his only chance. but it was better than her finding out on her own and going nuclear on him. Too late for that, she already did find out on her own. Somehow, though, she seemed so totally absorbed in the kiss that she hadn’t noticed them leaving the floor. Or she is just trying to deny the knowledge. Maybe his kisses usually made her feel as if they were floating, Lois:You just keep thining that Chuck. and he decided that he’d be okay with that. Lois:Well, I am not totally sure we floated. “I know that you visited me while I was in the hospital, Lois. Lois:Of course I did, I was the one who brought you out. Clark:No, I mean the night before. Lois:Oh, you think that was me. Clark:What? Lois:It was my evil twin. Clark:Oh no, oh no, oh no. Lois:OK, maybe it was me. But you need to be more careful what you do with unknown women when you don't have your memory. I need you to tell me what exactly happened,” he repeated, slower and more clearly. “It’s important.” He couldn’t stress how very important it was. He really should tell her why it is so important. Lois cocked her head to the side. “What do you think happened, Kent?” Why is she calling him by his last name? Clark flushed. “Um… you climbed in my window and came to visit me?” he said hesitantly. “I have this drawing of…” The other Lois. He coughed and continued, “— of you I guess admitting it was a different Lois would really complicate things. Although it would force Lois to admit she knows The Secret, so I wish he had said it was another Lois. If they had made love without any deadly consequences in the hospital, then they could do so again, right? Assuming the curse does not have a sub-conscious making love exemption. Hmm, now that would be truly sadistic. Curse Clause 54, if one of the parties is only semi-aware or missing their memories at the time of making love, this will not activiate the curse. However the next time they make love, while both are fully cognizant of reality the curse will be activated. Moreover, after that kiss and Lois’s gift of the lava lamp pen, tonight seemed as good a time as any to move forward. he is giving up the stupid idea of breaking up with her for her own good. Lois seemed pleased by this development. although she does love him, even if she plans to brake up with him. Clark replied, pressing his hands against the counter on either side of her waist and leaning onto her, so that their whole bodies touched. This is definately more touching than we ever saw in season 1, or 2 for that matter. “Awww, Chuck, do you have fantasies about me having Superman’s powers?” she asked, stopping him to place a hand to his cheek. Clark:Most definately, then the curse would not kill you. Lois:What curse. Clark:The curse I hope was proven false while I was in the hospital. Lois:How would the curse be proved false. Clark:If we made love and you didn't die. Lois:Wait, you think I will die if we make love. And you were about to do it at the Metro Club. Were you trying to kill me? Clark; No one had told me about the curse then. Was he nervous about hearing what really had happened between him and Lois? Well if what he thinks happened did happen, the curse is proved false. If it didnt than the curse might still apply (although it is not proven true). “Although, I should have wondered at your different pronunciation.” Lois:But I was enjoying you too much, I really didn't notice. “Kidding?” Lois chuckled. “”I hear it’s the best cure for being cold,’ you told me. No wonder she didn't realize there was anything wrong with him. Although maybe she should have been more shokced his fear of intimacy was gone. “You really don’t remember, do you?” she went on, a smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. She looked exceedingly pleased with this development. Oh no, oh no, oh no. “We decided that it wouldn’t be good to attract the guard’s attention with your screams of pleasure,” she purred, breathing the words into his ear. Clark:There is no gaurd such screams would attrack now. “Amongst other things,” he mumbled, setting down the plate. It is the other things that we really want to hear about. Lois wrapped her arms around his waist. “Clark, are you trying to ask me whether or not we made love?” Clark:Of course if we did so now, would it matter so much if we had then? He pulled her tightly against his chest, so she wouldn’t see his embarrassed expression. “Hot passionate sex, actually,” he murmured into her hair. The curse has no meaning. “So, I pleased you?” she asked innocently, brushing his lips with a kiss. They are kissing. No more curse. “Oh, yes,” he moaned, deepening the kiss. He was waiting for her admission of their lovemaking to scoop her up into his arms, a la Superman, and carry her to the bedroom. “Very much so.” no more Herb stopping them “And did you please me?” Lois murmured between kisses. Lois you were supposed to say "let's do it again". Hmm, maybe I should not be rooting for them to make love, but it seems so much better than the other option, Clark having despiar. OK, I see why Lois does not say that, but still. “Don’t you know if you pleased me? Wasn’t that important on your to-do list in your fantasy?” she asked, her gaze narrowing. “Or are you merely worried about performance issues, like the ones you had with your ex-fiancée? Because I, personally, think you should exclude such things from any fantasies in the future.” She does have a point. Clark really should explain why this is so important to him. “Do you really not remember if we made love?” she asked.
Clark shook his head. He hated admitting how out of control and weak he had been that he couldn’t tell his fantasy from reality. So Lois can lie and he will not know the difference.

I guess I knew Clark would not be freed from the fear of the curse this soon. Still, I do worry if he ever can be freed from the curse unless he has been already. Whispering in her ear would be good, then he wouldn’t have to look her in the eye. He placed his mouth next to her ear and started to describe in detail what he could recall from his fantasy with Meena. There must be more than we have been told. He could feel her hot breath against his neck, hear her heartbeat quicken, and could almost taste her body reacting positively to what he was saying, tempting him to stop to kiss her once more, consequences be damned. Oh it would simplify this story if he did. “Go on,” she murmured, her voice softer, more guttural, as if she were breathing her words instead of speaking them. “Yeah… uh-huh… oh. Oh… uh-huh… twice, huh?” Hmm, there was a lot more there than I thought. His hands coasted down Lois’s back, touching, squeezing, wanting, yet resisting the urge to pull her shirt up, just so he could touch the soft skin at her waist. He knew words had the power to move people, but he never knew that describing their love making to Lois could be so erotic. It was almost as if they were reliving it with their clothes on. Well, this story has lots of ups. Lois swallowed. “Uh-huh… And then again? Wow… I did what?” she gasped, leaning back and staring him. “I most certainly did not make us float. I’m sorry, Clark, but that’s outside of my powers.” This seems like an overly specific denial. Clark should realize that she knows The Secret. “Well, I guess that could be possible, since just your kisses do make me feeling like floating. This is an overly specific attempt to pretend she does not know what recently happened. Yes, we did cuddle, and kiss, and I did fall asleep in your arms, but I can guarantee you that I didn’t bite your neck to stop from screaming out loud with pleasure,” she said, moving her hands off his chest to her vest, pulling it modestly together. so far I believe her. “The rest… wow, Chuck.” She fanned herself. “You have some steamy… steamy fantasies. It makes me wonder what you’ll really be like, when we do finally make love.” Now this, this I am not sure if I believe her, or if she is just building up to what she plans to do tomorrow. Clark felt his face fell. And then the story has downs. I am still not sure I believe Lois though. He closed his eyes as he felt his dreams and all his hopes crash against the rocks of reality. I have to say this is very moving writting. Oh how I wish Clark did not have to go through this. I am still hoping Lois is lieing though. Of course, Lois hadn’t made hot, passionate love with him in a hospital room for their first time. She wouldn’t do that. Impetuous, daring Lois? I can so see her doing that. He had been lying in a hospital bed, for heaven’s sake. She knew better than to chance harming his recovery. But he told her making love would be the best way to speed up his recovery. but with her private life, she was cautious. Which is why she was trying to get Superman to ravish her the same day they met. “Hey, Clark,” Lois said, resting her hand on his cheek and turning his face towards her. “We’ll get there, someday, Chuck, don’t worry. I promise.” I am starting to think maybe she is telling the truth. “I’m sorry. I should’ve just told you that we had made love, and then all your unfounded fears, which had disappeared with your memories, would have stayed gone,”
I wish she had.
she said, kissing him. more kissing. “But I can’t do that, I’m sorry. Really, I am.” I am mostly convinced that she told the truth. Of, I really, really, really want her to have lied. It will make the story flow better later on. I can also see her having lied. She is mad at him deep down, and not ready to make love with him again. However, I am not sure she is really that mean spirited. So I am mostly convinced they did not make love in the hospital, but still think it might have happened.

“I love you, Lois,” Clark murmured. he loves her. this is so much better than what I feared would happen. I just need a little time to prove something to myself, and you need a little space to discover that nobody is going to hurt me because of you.” I have to say that this does seem logical in some ways. She placed her lips to his in a soft kiss. more kissing. So as I said before, that was way, way, way, way better than I feared. I still am not sure I believe Lois' claim that they did not make love.

Well Clark, considering your decision last time to break up with her on your birthday we'll have to see how this turns out. Today was the date Clark had chosen as his birthday when he arrived on Earth, so it counted. The day he celebrates his birth regardless of his "real" birthday is still a time to celebrate. I'd sing about unbirthdays but don't feel it makes sense here as March 1st IS his birthday, just not on this particular Earth. “That’s better. It’s not much, but…” She shrugged. “I wanted to get you a tracking bug, so you’d know that I would always know where you had run off to, but I didn’t have time to get it.”
His eyes opened wide and he gulped.
Lois decided that Clark not knowing that she knew his secret could be a bit of fun. Lois: *needleneedle* “Aren’t you going to open your gift?” Lois interrupted.
He gulped, and she saw his gaze dart away from hers and down her body for a split second. “My gift?” Yup, we know where Clark's mind is at right now. Down a certain gutter (in the best way possible, that is.) “Uh-huh,” she murmured, resting her lips to his and kissing him again. Then she kissed across his cheek to his ear. “Just rip the paper. It’s okay. We’re not going to keep it.” Oh my, my, my, Lois. You really ARE evil. Teasing him like that when you've made a decision to cut things off. Cruel. Simply cruel. Clark ripped the paper and uncovered a pen case. He opened it and removed a stainless steel ‘Space Pen’ made with NASA technology. “A pen?”
“It’s the kind they use on space missions, on the Prometheus, and in the military. The ink is pressurized, so it lasts a long time, so long it’s guaranteed never to dry out. You can use it in extreme temperatures, and even under water or upside-down and the ink remains smooth and clear. I figured it was just the kind of pen a friend…” Lois’s voice faded as her guilt from her kiss with Superman crashed over her again. She cleared her throat and pushed past it. “…a friend of Superman’s should have.” I used to have one of those. I bought it back when I was working at a science museum (to this day one of my favorite jobs). When Christmas came around the museum entry was packed... and freezing from the consistent amount of foot traffic coming through the sliding doors. As a result we couldn't write out memberships because our pens would freeze solid. I decided to circumvent that for myself and bought one from the gift shop. It worked extremely well until it ran out of ink and I tried to replace the ink canister. I lost a piece of the pen and couldn't put it back together again. She set the bag on the table and started clearing away the dinner dishes. She had lost her appetite as well. Clark shrugged and opened the bag. His eyes widened as he pulled yet another pen out from the bag.
“Silly, right?” Lois asked.
It was a lava lamp pen, which would light up whenever he wrote with it. *waggles eyebrows* I love that they have these little in-jokes between them. The mark of a good relationship. Or would be if they weren't so darn lunkheaded. The BOTH of them. It wasn’t until Lois felt her kitchen floor firmly below her feet again that Clark drew slightly back from her. “Lois, I need to know exactly what happened at the hospital.” He's seriously trying to figure out whether he can make love to her right then and there or break up with her. “I thought I was asleep. A beautiful superheroine flew through my window and started to kiss me. What else could I think?” Clark replied, pressing his hands against the counter on either side of her waist and leaning onto her, so that their whole bodies touched.
Lois skimmed right over ‘beautiful’ and went straight to, “Superheroine? Flew?” He could see the laughter in her eyes. I almost wonder if the canon-Lois either a) told him about her time as UltraWoman or b) he saw Canon Lois's costume in among the spare ones (as I suspect he DID need to change them like the Canon Clark does.) Also, (assuming he did not see the costume) I wonder what he thought his Lois's costume looked like. “Awww, Chuck, do you have fantasies about me having Superman’s powers?” she asked, stopping him to place a hand to his cheek. “I’d like to hear more about that. What happened after I kissed you?” I wonder what Lois thinks of that. It is kind of endearing. “Kidding?” Lois chuckled. “”I hear it’s the best cure for being cold,’ you told me. There’s a come-on line straight out the hypothermia playbook.”
Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw her cross her arms and study him.
“You really don’t remember, do you?” she went on, a smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. She looked exceedingly pleased with this development.
Clark shifted the weight from one foot to the other. He wasn’t pleased at this loss of control with the situation, not in the least.
“We decided that it wouldn’t be good to attract the guard’s attention with your screams of pleasure,” she purred, breathing the words into his ear. I really wonder what Lois would think if she had realized that it might have been the last situation where she would have had free reign to make love to him without him worrying about a possible "curse." Lois seemed absorbed in what he was saying. “Proceeded to what, Clark?” She had a big entertained grin on her face. “Discuss the current sociopolitical crisis?”
Clark cleared his throat. “Kiss me,” he said, chickening out.
She raised a questioning eyebrow, and he knew she had caught his omission.
“Amongst other things,” he mumbled, setting down the plate. He had run out of busy work to avoid looking directly at Lois.
Lois wrapped her arms around his waist. “Clark, are you trying to ask me whether or not we made love?”
He pulled her tightly against his chest, so she wouldn’t see his embarrassed expression. “Hot passionate sex, actually,” he murmured into her hair. “Why don’t you whisper in my ear what happened in your fantasy, and I’ll tell you whether it’s true?” Lois suggested.
Whispering in her ear would be good, then he wouldn’t have to look her in the eye. He placed his mouth next to her ear and started to describe in detail what he could recall from his fantasy with Meena. Aaaand right about now I'm wishing you'd make an nfic version of this scene so we could hear Clark telling her what he had fantasized happened. And again why I'd love to read the nfic version. Clark felt his face fell. They hadn’t made love. They hadn’t proven Herb wrong. He still couldn’t risk being intimate with Lois. The curse was back, hanging like a Jolly Roger over their heads and laughing in derision at them. He closed his eyes as he felt his dreams and all his hopes crash against the rocks of reality. Aaaaaaand breakup time. “Someone is trying to kill me. Somebody, or organization, out there wants me dead. If it became public knowledge that you and I… that we…” he said, looking at her sad eyes. He cupped her jaw with his hand. “If they discovered how much you mean to me, they could hurt you to get to me. I can’t let that happen, but I also… I also can’t stay away… I can’t break your heart, Lois. I don’t have the strength.” They're both on the same wavelength for once, I guess. Too bad it's in something that will damage their own relationship. “You’re breaking up with me because you love me?” he echoed, his voice full of sarcasm. That was the most lunkheaded, to coin a phrase, thing he had ever heard. Um, Clark? Wasn't that what you had been about to do? Clark stood at her front door, his suitcase in one hand and his birthday gifts in the other. “I hate this,” he whispered.
“Me, too,” Lois agreed. “You need to remember that this is only temporary, Clark, and it’s just a ruse.” She set her hand over his heart. “We’ll be together here, if nowhere else.” Then she leaned in and kissed him softly, never letting go of his heart. *shouting* Clark, LISTEN to that. The RUSE part!!!! It's important!!!!!!
CLARK: No. I'm just worried I'm a jinx. JONATHAN: A jinx? CLARK: Yeah. Let's face it, ever since she's known me, Lois's been kidnapped, frozen, pushed off buildings, almost stabbed, poisoned, buried alive and who knows what else, and it's all because of me. -"Contact" (You're not her jinx, you're her blessing.)

He volunteered to add her name to his byline of the attack story and shoot the final version over to Perry with Joe Rory’s name attached Trying to curry favor so she will be…favorably disposed to him later on tonight? Thirdly, she had picked up Clark’s gift in Washington, D.C. after President Garner had delayed their interview for several hours. Guilt wasn’t a feeling she liked. It meant that she had done something wrong. “A pen?”
“It’s the kind they use on space missions, on the Prometheus, and in the military. Funny thing is, urban legend says NASA spent untold numbers of money on developing it. The Russians simply packed some pencils on the flight. That’s fascinating. Now they only need paper that you can write on with ink *and* that won’t dissolve under water. It was a lava lamp pen, which would light up whenever he wrote with it. Ooooooh Clark cleared his throat, cutting off her babble. “I don’t think this pen will be one I’ll be able to use at work, Lois,” He could use it to write love letters? “Lois, I need to know exactly what happened at the hospital.” He’s a tad horny by now, isn’t he?

It wasn’t how he planned to tell Lois that he was Superman, I thought he already thought that she had figured it out during their regain-memory kiss before he flew off to Nightfall 2? “Don’t you know if you pleased me? Wasn’t that important on your to-do list in your fantasy?” she asked, her gaze narrowing. He took a deep breath and stepped back. “I came here tonight planning on breaking up with you, but I can’t… I just can’t do it. I’ve worked too hard to get to this point that I can’t just throw it away.” Michael

Thank you all for reading and commenting. RL has me bogged down, so my cushion is barely 5 parts. I figured you'd rather me catch up on that and get to my FDK responses when I'm caught up, so posting doesn't get delayed. I do read and appreciate all the comments. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Yes, we want you to work on the next part. Your cushion seems to constantly be shrinking.
