Wrong Place, Wrong Time, Wrong Clark TOC can be found HereIn the Archive version, the italicized sections will be sprinkled throughout the last thirty-five parts, making this chapter only the non-italicized sections and it will be much shorter before we return to our main characters. I promise I'll post Part 136, returning us to previously introduced characters as soon as I finish writing Part 141. Now that September is peering over the horizon at me, I'll probably need to start seriously looking for some kind of employment outside the home, especially now that my youngest is heading off to Kindergarten in a couple of weeks. I apologize that my posting schedule in the last month has been quite spotty and it would probably be best if I tone it down to only one post per week for the foreseeable future. I'll miss reading all the new gems of wisdom those who comment on my stories give me (twice a week), but perhaps I'll be able to work up on building my cushion, so I don't miss any more postings, and we won't end up with any more crazy parts that don't include mention Lois Lane or Clark Kent. Thank you for your patience, and I'll appreciate any comments that you would like to share. Thank you for your continued reading.

Wow, you managed to go a whole part with zero mentions of either Lois Lane or Clark Kent. I guess we did get mentions of Superman, so some would argue that it almost counts as a mention of Clark. but not really. This is probably the first part where either Clark or Lois were not at least mentioned. Even the part where we got the whole backstory of Clark's relations with both Lana and Rachel at least made mention of Clark, and the Clark-free parts have at least mentioned him as well. I think we have always in the past seen one of them. On the other hand, this part has made me for the first time want Kirk to live. Before he would have just been another death with little impact. Now, I don't want Luthor to manage to kill him. I am even rooting for Kirk and Mona, although I have to admit it seems a long shot. Still, I would much rather see Mona with Kirk than seduced by Luthor. I also for the first time have a better understanding of why only Kirk is questioning the reality of the situation. These are people who have been helped by Luthor's philanthropy.

Mr. Luthor would surely let him out through the emergency stairwell. KIRK: Are you certain this is the emergency stairwell, Mr. St. John? The sign says ‘Trash Compactor’. If he asked to be let out, Mr. Luthor would have to let him go. Isn’t he adorable? Almost as naive as Lois. Kirk Devlin, Physicist’s Report, New Earth, Day 1, Old Star Date 02281994: *Fresh* food! *Healthy* food! MORLOCK 3: /swings bat at M1 and M2/ *My* food! This is everything I’ve wanted without spending twenty years clawing my way to the top through corporate hierarchy or academia. Translation: He hopes to score with the scantly glad but very attractive cave girls who survived topside. I guess that’s pretty stereotypical of his profession as “agrarian agricultural engineer”. I asked him what that was, when he used the term on Day One to describe his job within the ark community. He had grinned and said, “You commonly call us ‘farmers’.”

Or did he not think an astronomer would be necessary in the New Dawn? This is too weird. ASABI: No, Mr. Luthor. It says right here, Madame Blavatsky, Astrologer. His ilk didn’t do crazy stuff like that. BRUCE WAYNE: What? *What*? “Even I know that fresh lettuce doesn’t come from a can,” I told him. Private greenhouse on the other side of the Luthaille? Right next to the concubine living quarters. He laughed, and said that they started harvesting micro greens this morning. Okay, maybe it isn’t the smoking gun I was hoping for, but I’m going to keep looking. Something is off about the L.U.C. I just can’t put my finger on it. He does realize that they tried and convicted Marcus Antonius based on his will, right? And with the type of treasonous remarks he’s putting down in his own handwriting, that’s not going to end well for our Red Shirt. Or did he serve us ten-day-old hard-boiled eggs at his fancy party? What about replicated food? He applied himself and got a Luthor Foundation scholarship to Ohio State, Lex must be a really old dude. like those twin Japanese dancers, Michael

Completely love this part. Kirk is great, too naive but a lot of fun! A trekkie, that's so cool! I love the reference to the ... BORG collective! I really hope he is not a red shirt, because if so, he got not much more time left XD
@Darth Michael: I love you intrepretation of NimoySpock and QuintoSpock, so true!!
Well good luck for the job and keep going, I have a lot of fun with your story. Nice version of Lois and Clark. And it is nice to see Cat with a brain and a good sense of humour. : )

Thank you all for your comments. I'll respond as soon as I finish playing catch up. RL bashed me over the head again this week, sending my 10 y.o. cat into emergency surgery today due to no longer eating or being able to keep anything down over the holiday weekend. Add on top of that the beginning of school and you'll understand why I'm looking like and am REALLY far behind on my writing. My cat's surgery went well, but she had a stomach tumor, which I know now means a long recovery. I'll try to post Part 136 tomorrow, even though I'm only 5 pages into Part 141. Hopefully, with my son in school full day next week, I'll be able to finish two parts before I need to post 137. I'm supposed to be catching up, not falling further behind, on this new schedule. Thank you all for your continued Readership and patience.

John:Thank you for commenting on my non-Lois and Clark part. Wow, you managed to go a whole part with zero mentions of either Lois Lane or Clark Kent. Yeah, I know. I got this terrific idea and ran it by one of my betas who loved it. Unfortunately, when I'm down to a 5 part cushion, I can't run back and add in these extra Diary entries in context. I'll put them in the right spot for the Archive version and that will cut down this non-LnC section considerably. I guess we did get mentions of Superman, so some would argue that it almost counts as a mention of Clark. but not really. CLARK: It only counts if they know CK=SM LOIS: I'll count it. Don't worry. This was a one-time deal. I felt bad for the people stuck in the bunker and the Readers only having Dr. Muldoon as their only representation. This was my solution to that problem. And you know me, when an idea strikes, I tend to go into WAY too much detail. On the other hand, this part has made me for the first time want Kirk to live. Before he would have just been another death with little impact. Now, I don't want Luthor to manage to kill him. Kirk got a lurker to comment! Thanks for stopping by. Completely love this part. Kirk is great, too naive but a lot of fun! A trekkie, that's so cool! I love the reference to the ... BORG collective! I really hope he is not a red shirt, because if so, he got not much more time left XD Not being a die-hard Trekkie, and only having watches drips and drabs of the ST:NG, I hope I did a fair impersonation of one. Q and the Borg were some of my favorite plot lines. I have to say Kirk was inspired a tiny bit by my love of the guys on the "Big Bang Theory". Well good luck for the job and keep going, I have a lot of fun with your story. Nice version of Lois and Clark. And it is nice to see Cat with a brain and a good sense of humour. : ) Thank you. I'm so happy you like my Lois and Clark despite me keeping them apart so much recently. I don't plan on stopping until I get this done. I hate not completing things, and having Readers inspires me to finish for them. Anyway, the ending I have planned makes me want to keep on writing, so I can get to it and flesh it out.

Darth Michael: Yea! Someone else really liked this non-LnC part! KIRK: Are you certain this is the emergency stairwell, Mr. St. John? The sign says ‘Trash Compactor’. NIGEL: That's just misdirection, Mr. Devlin, so that nobody will try to escape... er... break in. It also has a heater to keep the tunnel warm. Don't mind the recyclables in there. Watch your step. Don't mind me, I'm just going to shut this door, so nobody from outside will find you... us. If he asked to be let out, Mr. Luthor would have to let him go. ER: Isn’t he adorable? Almost as naive as Lois. KIRK: Why, Mr. Luthor, what big bank accounts you have. A Trekkie! Actually, a hard-core nerd Trekkie! Maybe not a "hard-core nerd Trekkie" being that he got the Star Date wrong. So, the escorts get two bedrooms? Or is it that they’re allowed to work in other guys rooms, just not their own? Perhaps the escorts share a room. LEX: Escorts? No. No. No. Women are only allowed to service me. Nigel, I'm sure I had that in the fine print of their contracts, didn't I? Ah, now the circle is complete. Chen, the farmer, grows the pot. Greg Stone cooks the LSD and meth. Brandon, the supply guy, supplies the stuff needed to make the LSD and meth and then sells it to the other inhabitants. And Hector does the quality assurance on the farmer’s products. Why do they need a physicist again? To punch holes in your theory? A red herring? New love interest for Brenda Muldoon? Can you imagine if they had put Sheldon Cooper in here, too? Mass suicides. Or a public lynching. NIGEL: Sir, I have selected the first candidate for the vitamin regime. LEX: Why? Is his family topside looking for him? NIGEL: No, they're celebrating the fact that he's disappeared. It isn't that, sir, but he considers himself to have a higher intellect than you. LEX: We can't have that. Start him up! SHELDON: I don't need vitamins. The diet here is full of nutrients and fiber. But Mr. Luthor and Mr. St. John have been looking sickly lately, I'll slip these into their milk glasses at the next meeting of the L.U.C. and see if that doesn't perk them right up. They probably haven't been eating enough fiber. Ah, okay, he’s building the cooking equipment for the drug lab. Duh! Give him time. KIRK: I’m guessing he got chosen because he was a loner, and so mediocre that nobody would miss him and file a missing person’s report. Yes, on the loner. He's smart but not top echelon smart, plus he's not one to put himself forward or get lucky breaks. ARI: So, how long have you had this claustrophobia? KIRK: It developed about the time I moved underground. Duh! The inhabitants are simply called Luckies. That's the general idea. Where are the lawyers, the bankers, and the stock traders? LEX: You don’t need those when you have an Emperor. HERB WELLS: Those people only ruin society. Yes, that was one of the terrific things about the Utopia that Superman's descendants will lead... inspire. It's a traditional barter society with no laws or money. The supers are the only police force the world needs. LEX: /confused/ Why would I try to safe something that uncivilized? To keep your 20-somethings from going insane? Nono, there *is* perfect equality within each class. LEX: With me as Emperor. Well, he’s not a geologist. Plus, what if The Rock hit in China instead of on the East Coast? My guess, and I'm not astronomer or physicist, but if they knew how far out Nightfall Minor was and it's speed and trajectory, wouldn't it be simple math to figure out how long and where it would strike? LOIS: Maybe he should not mention that to The Emperor. Or write it down in his diary, aka The Written Confession. KIRK: But this is *private.* Dr. M: There is no privacy in the L.U.C. LEX: Yes, I get to watch whatever's happening in the sex room. DR. M: So, do I. LEX: /turns on video feed and grabs bowl of popcorn/ Wait. That room looks familiar. They're using Lois's apartment! No, no, no! This is unacceptable. I built that for her prison... quarters. Unless the captain, pilot, or driver would have been less reckless if he hadn’t known about the Superman copout? Or maybe the people in danger would have tried to leave the burning building on their own instead of waiting for Superman because they figured, why walk twenty feet trough almost non-existent smoke and out a door when there’s Superman to carry us? I'm thinking maybe there's a burning building and Superman flies off with the entire roof of survivors who couldn't get down the emergency stairs due to fires below them? CLARK: That's possible. AT: [Sex Party at Lex's bunker!] LINDA: [I'm so there.] LUCY: [I'm already there.] LOIS: [I left topside for this?] CAT: What do you mean there aren't even 100 men down here? I can't live on a hundred men for 3 years. 100 men won't even last me six months. And that's if I do them each at least twice. How boring! LINDA: Well, as long as I get perks for putting out... LUCY: Are any of the guys cute? Or they just old like Luthor and St. John? LOIS: OCTOPUS!!!!! No. Just unlucky in love and a bit shy. /points at his wearing a red shirt/ KIRK: But this is the color my class was issued! It's not my fault! I didn't sign up to be a red-shirt! Get me out of here! So, six, actually? Since you have to count Team Lex and The Emperor as two classes. LEX: I'm in a class of my own. /points at the non-mentioned escorts/ Are they split into ‘skilled laborers’ for the higher classes and ‘menial workers’ for the rest of them? Possibly. CANON-LOIS: [doesn't understand why Kirk wouldn't want to survive at any cost] ALT-LOIS: Apparently, a lot. LOIS: I have no idea what she’s talking about. [whistles innocently] Because canon Lois would choose Lex over Clark? Well, structure can refer to both the physical as well as the social structure. NIGEL: Yes, we did word that vaguely, didn't we? Ticked off about Lex-C getting himself a tiny-wee-bit of an Ouchy? LEX-C: No, it wasn't 'tiny-wee-bit of an ouchy'! It was a big whole huge bit of an ouchy, thank you very much! And it still hurts. I want my mommy! ASABI:  You have no mother. LEX-C: Then can you take me back to Lois? ASABI: Trust me on this, Lex-C. You'd be better off dealing with Mr. St. John than having Ms. Lane mother you. Well, outside. Wait, are they leaving him alone in an apartment with a known exit shaft? Is he going to pull a Lois? He's not alone. Nigel's still there, guarding... er... keeping him company. The people outside. The concubines only have pagers. Maybe if I ever turn this trapped in the L.U.C. story into a stand-alone, I'll make it accurate. It was done this way to make the non-Hard-Core Trekkie Readers understand the passage of time. It was okay for me and lots of fun. I'm glad you enjoyed, but it was a little dry on LnC for others. Such as Cat, Lex, Dr. Muldoon, Carlos, Bill Henderson, and the Jimmies… Oh, good, so you aren't expecting Lois or Clark in the next part.

ER: /points at various fruits and vegetables brought to Europe in the 16th century/ The ripest fruit is always worth the extra effort it takes to bring it to a new society? EW: Because canon Lois would choose Lex over Clark? ER: /points at most of Season 1/ CANON LOIS: How did I know someone would bring that up? LEX-C: No, it wasn't 'tiny-wee-bit of an ouchy'! No, because she doesn't seem like the nurturing type. LOIS: Oh, now that's just a low blow. Oh. That also explains why McGee explained to Abby what a malware program is and Abby explained to him right back what a hacker is. Seriously? It's been a while since I watched NCIS. I always thought those discussions were done tongue in cheek with Abby ending up saying something like "Now, that we've stated the obvious, can we get to work?" /Also, isn't that what's Tony is for? Stating the obvious computer stuff to?/ CLARK: /stretching out/ Come on, Lois. It's not like we ever get a real vacation in these stories.
