I like that Lois talked to Mayson about Lex. Now maybe the investigation will go somewhere.
I wonder if Clark is trying to get ahold of Herb to go back home? I hope he sticks it out.
"It is a remarkable dichotomy. In many ways, Clark is the most human of us all. Then...he shoots fire from the skies, and it is difficult not to think of him as a god. And how fortunate we all are that it does not occur to him." -Batman (in Superman/Batman #3 by Jeph Loeb)

mrsMxyzptlk: Thank you for reading and commenting. I like that Lois talked to Mayson about Lex. Now maybe the investigation will go somewhere. LOIS: You and me both hope that, sister. I wonder if Clark is trying to get ahold of Herb to go back home? I hope he sticks it out. Unfortunately, Clark doesn't have a way to contact Herb, which is why Herb suggested the system of dropping by every three months to check up on him, in case he changed his mind.

A sturdy woman dressed in jeans, t-shirt, and an apron, who made Lois feel overdressed in her slacks and blouse, handed her an apron, hairnet, and a large spoon. Michael

She could kill two birds with one stone: her community service and meet that possible new source. She only hoped this man was worth it. she is meeting a source. “Lois, meet Bobby. Bobby, meet Lois, community service,” We meet Bobby Bigmouth. He hit it so close to the mark, she wondered if he was one of Lex’s spies. But would they admit knowing so much? A new series of articles about the Metropolis homeless started forming in her head. At least she is still thinking like a reporter. “Well, there’s one thing to be said about Luthor’s House for Homeless Kids,” he mumbled, holding out his plate. “Luthor sure didn’t feed us right.” Jack must know she can be trusted, otherwise he would not speak so against Luthor. A pang of guilt passed through her as she realized that she had never gone back to talk to Denny and never checked up on his brother who was supposedly being kept in solitary confinement by the management at the Luthor House, Is this on par with totally not following up with Aymee Valdes? because he had talked back to Mrs. Cox. A kid like that deserved a prize, not punishment. At least she knows who are the real good guys.

She knew better now, and that made her feel worse about how blind she had been. At least she knows. building his underground bunker, Sounds like the most likely scam focus. She needed someone on the outside, Like Clark someone Lex wasn’t watching, Like Clark to do the research for her and get back to her with the results. Still sounds like Clark. Sadly, that thought didn’t make Lois feel any better or miss him any less. that Lois does not have Clark with her.

Lois glanced down at her watch as she hurried down the street. Which watch is she wearing? She knew that Clark wasn’t always Superman, except when it was least convenient for her, Oh, I thought it was when the EW wanted it the most. And maybe someday I’ll be able to fly without Clark to hold me, she scoffed. we will get Ultrawoman in this story. in helping out with Ides of Metropolis computer virus and finding the true murderer of Mr. Holmes, I think that would be "with the Ides of Metropolis". Lois felt something tickle in the back of her mind. She tried to grab hold of it, but it wiggled away. She's remembering Church does run Intergang. He promised me that should the Planet ever go under, I’d always have a job at LNN.” Only when the Planet goes under, not when it is still afloat. “Yes, back when Superman first made his appearance, you promised me that dating your…” It took multiple readings to figure out that the next work was partner. “Chuck? Oh, right. Lois, Clark would never cheat on you. that she still needs reassurances about this. “She’s what? What?! Who would marry her?” Lois grumbled. Don't worry Lois, Superman wants to marry you, you have no need to fear.

Michael: Almost caught up! That's the hope. I always wondered how they met. This is my take. But would they admit knowing so much? Are Lex's spies really that smart? NIGEL: With the Nazis and Intergang in town, it's really getting more difficult to hire good goons without paying them through the nose. At least she is still thinking like a reporter. I should hope so. Jack must know she can be trusted, otherwise he would not speak so against Luthor. He's mumbling more to himself than talking to her. Is this on par with totally not following up with Aymee Valdes? Wouldn't it be embarrassing if she did and found out that they all knew before she did that CK=SM? At least she knows who are the real good guys. DAN SCARDINO: I'm a good guy! LOIS: She needed someone on the outside, JOHN: /suggests/ Like Clark LOIS: Well, actually, I was thinking for Clark... CLARK: Gfic! Gfic! Gfic! LOIS: You're no fun. to do the research for her and get back to her with the results. JOHN: Still sounds like Clark. CLARK: Great. Reject my proposal but still wants me to do her grunt work. Peachy. Which watch is she wearing? Does it matter? Hmmmm. I wonder what the honchos at LNN would think if she showed them her one-of-a-kind LoLex watch? Oh, I thought it was when the EW wanted it the most. we will get Ultrawoman in this story. I'm sorry, did I imply that? I think that would be "with the Ides of Metropolis". Thanks. Fixed. She's remembering Church does run Intergang. Only when the Planet goes under, not when it is still afloat. LOIS: Semantics. LEX: No, John has it right. It took multiple readings to figure out that the next work was partner. Yes. "Partner". that she still needs reassurances about this. She doesn't need reassurances. Perry misunderstood Lois's meaning about Clark hiding out at Cat's.

To be fair the Smart kids only found out because they had the city massively under surveillance, and Clark seemed to have mainly convinced them they were wrong.

Darth Michael: Oh, look! I'm caught up... well, with the FDK responses. /checks inbox/ okay, maybe not with the FDK-FDK-FDK-FDK though. She’s quite good at sending mixed signals, isn’t she? It's an artform. Floating in Hobbs Bay, dressed in blue, with a glowing crystal taped to his chest? Ooops. You forgot to mention the suicide note in his hand. Also, would Superman float? Isn't he denser than water? So, wouldn't he sink?

Oh, look! I'm caught up... well, with the FDK responses. /checks inbox/ okay, maybe not with the FDK-FDK-FDK-FDK though. One always has to make sure that there’s a new project in the line. LOIS: That’s why I’m keeping Superman *and* Clark in the lineup for when I’m done doing Lex. LOIS: What? Master of disguise here! Mistress in disguise? LEX: quote: She trying to meet men in the soup kitchen? Well, one man.
Actually, Louie never *said* the guy was guy. Good thing Lois experimented with Linda in college? quote:So, the food really good?
This too will be answered in time. Michael

CLARK: Score! /fist pump/ I get to go twice. Mistress in disguise? LEX: [has evil thoughts about Lois] LOIS: Which is why I use the masculine form of the word. ER: She trying to meet men in the soup kitchen? Well, one man.
EW: Actually, Louie never *said* the guy was guy. ER: Good thing Lois experimented with Linda in college? LOIS: Beating them up? EW: Quid pro quo in charitable works? LEX: I do it with the Lucky Girls. I give them shelter. They gives me sex. NIGEL: And I give them food, only some of which has been poisoned. LOIS: I'll have you know those pickles were my sisters. BOBBY: Oh, so Jimmy's making you an Auntie. Congratulations. ER: Awww, little Ellie will have a nephew to play with! Who's Ellie? Did Ellen or Sam have another child or Clark get a sibling somewhere? Or did you mean 'cousin'? quote: He’s a stalking serial killer who specialized in female reporters?
LOIS: Why don't any of them stalk Linda King? ER: Because they don’t do trollops? Because even creepy stalkers have standards? Because they would prefer not to experience excruciating pain while relieving themselves? LOIS: At least, if they stalked her instead of me they could still relieve themselves without tubing. ER: /suggests/ She could sign up with one of Lex’s madams?
EW: To unionize escorts? I don't think he'd like that any more. LOIS: There’s no pleasing this man. MRS. COX: I beg to differ. LEX: Hush, Mrs. Cox. Let her keep trying. I'm sure she'll figure it out eventually. ER: It would work if men wouldn’t get it wrong about half the time.
EW: Exactly... wait, only half the time? ER: Yeah. If they got it wrong all the time, then you could easily always tell them the opposite thing of what to do and they would then do what you want. But with a chance of 50:50 it’s the same as telling them what to do and just hoping for the best. BTW, see, men are better than a lottery ticket. MRS. COX: I don’t know. Catching a good payday is just as rare as with the lottery. So, what you're saying is that Lois has more of a chance winning with a man than with the lotto? LOIS: Very funny. CLARK: Now, Lois, I wouldn't do an ADA for just anyone to get them a reduced sentence... No wonder Mayson doesn't like Superman. MAYSON: Yeah, he never called me for a second date. CLARK: Rachel was better? Might have been a tie with Lana though. LOIS: /mad/ Why is Lois mad that Clark thought Mayson was as bad as his bad ex-fiancee? Only to flying superheroes, everyone else has to pay. GREEN LANTERN: [Hyper] ER: I think Diana is also pretty light on her feet. BATMAN: I can fly. /points at Batwing and basejump-wings/ LOIS: Don't you people have anything better to do than ruin Superman's life? JLA: Ooops. You forgot to mention the suicide note in his hand. Also, would Superman float? Isn't he denser than water? So, wouldn't he sink? ER: Good point. Just like a Hobbit. LOIS: So, Superman has really big feet? It's been debated that she might already knows the answer to that question. SUPERMAN: Red boots make your feet appear smaller.

EW: Why is Lois mad that Clark thought Mayson was as bad as his bad ex-fiancee? ER: Nope, because of the number of women he went through. CLARK: Lana and Rachel, that's it! Two! Okay, three if you count Mayson, but that's it! That's only two more than you and Claude! LOIS: And Joe, and Paul, and Mitchell and I were just friends with benefits, but that doesn't really count. Well, Paul was more sex for favors / promotion at the Met U paper, so that doesn't count either... And let's see... CLARK: Oh. Friends with benefits don't count. Well, then we can cross off Rachel and Mayson. So, that just leaves Lana. See, equal. MAYSON: What? I was *what* to you?

MAYSON: Well, that didn't bother me much. It was the when he broke out the pompoms and started dressing up as Superman and having me cheer for him that really bothered me. CLARK: What?
