Please, just trust me.”
“Why? You haven’t earned it,” he said. Finally someone points this out to her. She rolled her eyes. “Mr. Vague… What do you mean by ‘vague’ anyway?”
“You’re kidding me, right?” Jack scoffed.
“I know they were subtle… never mind. I don’t know why I’m discussing this with you. He knew what the notes meant.” He could hear a slight waver to her voice as if she was starting to believe that maybe her note guy didn’t. Thank you, Jack. Maybe she'll start to consider the possibility that Clark isn't clairvoyant. “Please.” She started drawing on the card a picture of what must have been the ugliest spider he’d ever seen. Octopus!!!!!!!! Though I'm sad that Jack's not delivering it. His dad had gone to work one day on some big top secret construction job, and he never returned. Jack's dad helped build Lex's ark? Although, one guy thought there might be something wrong with him in the head because he’s gaga for Lois. I'll have to agree with him there. (This Lois, anyway.)

How could she continue to live on Carter Avenue after the investigation, She could live on Clinton... Ha! She had told Rat that Clark understood her messages. This only proved her right Sigh. No, she's still wrong. So... how are they going to meet in the morning? She didn't tell him where or when. And how is she going to lose her tail without Lex getting suspicious? Or in asking for help is she asking him to get her out of the situation entirely? It seems simplest if Clark would fly her off somewhere to hide her from Lex until he was neutralized. I'm glad that there's finally some progress between Lois and Clark. Everything has been stagnating or getting worse for so long that it's been depressing. Good chapter.

mrsMxyzptlk: Thank you for your comments. Finally someone points this out to her. Lane? CLARK: Lois? Well, that plan sounds logical, so probably impossible to implement. JIMMY: Who are you talking about here? LEX: I don't understand. Lois *likes* me. We're engaged. I'm glad that there's finally some progress between Lois and Clark. Everything has been stagnating or getting worse for so long that it's been depressing. Good chapter. Could Lois and Clark's dry spell be coming to an end? /it only seems like forever because I've dropped my posting schedule down to once a week. Technically, in the story it's been roughly two weeks since that day in the park./ CLARK: Feels like forever to me, too.

“Good morning,” she said, not sounding as if she meant it.
“Good almost afternoon,” he replied. Long night? Sick morning? “Well, mornings have never been my favorite time at the day. Ooooh! She’s just like Garfield! GARFIELD: You think I look like I’m pregnant? Have you talked to…?” she dropped the last word of her question and gave him a knowing look. …the little w… LOIS: Whore? Clark: ‘Woman’. LOIS: Reincarnation: Time Travel: Cat laughed. She actually took hold of his arm and threw back her head to laugh. “I know a terrific one. I’ll introduce you sometime.” Madame Blavatski or Star? “Star isn’t like that. If she ever realized what’s special about you…” She’d try to hook him up with Lois? “There are no absolutes there, Clark. Even though Phil makes me ecstatically happy, I’m sure, with a little work, you could too.” After he studied the Kamasutra and took some Yoga classes? Oh, and a course in Tantra. “Yeah. Sure,” Wally said, glancing down at his watch. “At 11 o’clock? Right.” Later… WALLY: You, Ralph. You won’t believe who’s hooked up now. The Catwoman and Lane’s Ex. “Caaaaat,” Clark groaned. “You know that two wrongs never make a right.” Actually, if you take three left turns, that’s the same as taking a right turn.

He would love to massage Lois’s sore feet, and no one would ever hear him complain about rich milk filled… “You want information about the streets, lady. Fine. Word on the street is that if anyone lays a finger on you, he would wind up dead, his family dead, and anyone he ever cared about dead. Awwww, Lex is so protective of her He must love her very much. Or just want be the one to pop her cherry very badly. “Please.” She started drawing on the card a picture of what must have been the ugliest spider he’d ever seen. Why is she scared *now*?

“Yeah,” Jack said. Big Louie had said that Lois Lane would be his ticket off the streets because she had powerful friends, very powerful friends. Jack hadn’t known Louie had meant Luthor and the man who had killed his father. Lois knows many powerful people. Most of them want to know her very intimately. Also… Michael

Darth Michael: Thank you for the comments. I'm so proud of myself! I'm responding to your FDK BEFORE posting the next part. LOIS: Anyway, didn't I already take away his dignity, not that *I'd* ever call it that, with Alex's sword?

Well, mornings have never been my favorite time at the day. I think Cat would say "my favorite time of the day". Everyone he spoke to about Lois, insisted that he needed to speak to Lois directly. This normally is the best approach. None of them had been there that day in the park when she had trampled his heart. He odes have a point. if for no other reason than to give him proper closure. that he has given up. nor had he run into her at any Superman scenes. That she has gone so long not needing a Superman rescue is very shocking. “Sure. Actually, I’m starving,” Cat said, taking her jacket she’d just hung up back off the rack. “Why don’t you take me next door to the Metro Diner for some lunch?” This is a horrible idea. “Superman was actually heckled at a rescue this morning. Ariana's efforts seem to be paying off. “Thanks. Frankly, I don’t see how this day could…” He pressed his lips together. Good, he stopped himself. “Get worse,” he said softly as other people entered. Oh no, he jinxed himself. “So, you didn’t have anything to do with me actually having data at the DMV for the Ides of Metropolis to threaten?” Nah, only brunettes come up with such good plans Clark. Cat laughed. She actually took hold of his arm and threw back her head to laugh. “I know a terrific one. I’ll introduce you sometime.” Clark will get to meet Star.

“Tell you what. If Lois actually does marry Lex and Phil dumps me, not that both of those things will happen, how about we make a pact that you and I will get married?” Clark, run for the hills. “Hey! Hey! Guys, playing hooky?” Wally called, his eyes shifting between them. Oh no, oh no, oh no. “What guy is going to want to raise what might not be his baby? A guy like Phil who clearly wants children. He wanted that. He would love nothing more than to have that possibility with Lois. Fortunantely he does, despite what Herb has told him. He would love to be able to cuddle with her and caress her large pregnant belly, knowing it was growing their child. Yeap, this does sound like something Clark would love. “It’s all that anyone on the streets can talk about.” This fact alone will really catch Lois's attention. His expression filled with incredulity. “Why don’t you ask him that, reporter?” Lois:Because he is a lying, cheating scoundrel who tries to not tell me anything. He crossed his arms. It was no big surprise that the billionaire didn’t trust her; she was sending notes to some other guy. Lois:Technically, Lex is just a story. The other guy is the love of my life. “If I were Mr. Vague Notes, I wouldn’t wait around for you while you dallied around with some rich guy.” Lois: I'm not sleeping with Luthor. He knew what the notes meant.” Not without the key. What kind of moron would believe everything he hears?” One who takes that Lois is engaged to Lex at face value. Jack hadn’t known Louie had meant Luthor and the man who had killed his father. Ah, but he didn't. He meant Superman. Jack swallowed. “Uh-huh. That’s not good.” It sounded like how his father disappeared. And was done by the same people. “So, the guy ended up punching a cop for no reason.” Let's hope it wasn't a Lex-linked cop. We’re talking huge major crush, love at first sight sort of thing. Actually more on the level of "I loved you before I met you." “Apparently, it was an accident.” Bobby shrugged. Jack: But she is still dismissing the guy who actually took care of her. “Anyway, let’s just say things aren’t exactly what they appear. You know what I mean?” He lowered his voice. “And how ‘bout from now on we refer to him as ‘Double L’? You know, just in case.” But that could mean Lois. Jack nodded. “Yeah. Okay. Thanks, Bobby. I’ll talk you to later,” I think he would say "I'll talk to you later." “What’s with the twenty questions? I’m just delivering a note. Geez, do you give the paperboy this much trouble?” Clark: I pay him. Clark swore under his breath as his zipped back into his apartment to lock up and change. he got the message. “Not now. Not here. Tomorrow. Contact me in the morning.” Lois has just killed the power of the octopus message. She has essentially cried wolf. At the last second, she paused and stared into his eyes as if she were drinking in the sight of them. Then she gave him a little smile and closed the curtain. I wish Clark would draw hope from this, but I doubt it. She took off that huge cumbersome engagement ring and almost tossed in on her dresser as if it was some kind of costume jewelry and she had finished playing with it for the day. I think that should be "tossed it on her dresser". ‘Didn’t want to lose it down the drain’ sounded reasonable enough. But wouldn't it be more fun to loose it down the drain. Lois hated her apartment. It felt like a prison. That's because it is a prison. How could she continue to live on Carter Avenue after the investigation, She could move to a different apartment on Carter Avenue. Lois couldn’t wait for the next day. She didn’t know how she would accomplish it, but she was going to give Clark the biggest kiss of his life and tell him how much she loved him, Lex be damned. I really hope she does accomplish that during the next day.

John: Hey, John! Taking a break from your story to check out what's new? that he has given up. Yes, hope is a balloon floating just outside his reach. That she has gone so long not needing a Superman rescue is very shocking. She must have stopping investigating stuff. That's the only explanation. To go out to lunch? LOIS: What?!

I'm so proud of myself! I'm responding to your FDK BEFORE posting the next part. [Laugh] Jon (Garfield's lacky): Um... Yes? Right? quote: Lois knows many powerful people. Most of them want to know her very intimately.
She's met the president too, and they're just friends. PRES. GARNER: I did not have sexual relations with that woman. quote: He was part of a biblical enterprise?
JACK: I don't know. He couldn't say, but he said his boss was named Noah. Oh, that Noah? Nah, I was just thinking ‘Ark’. quote:I remember that being mentioned. Sort of.
Really? I think this is the first time I've mentioned it. /scratches head/ Michael

SUPERMAN: *Murry!* When I said "non-profit" that's not what I meant. MURRY: But we have the cutest service ladies! Erm…ladies who do the service… Erm… /points at history book on old Greece and the temple practices there/ ER: When the ‘thank you’ note contains panties and a return address.
PENNY BARNES: Why is everyone looking at me? I don't wear underwear. JIMBO: <thinks about Terminators> CLARK: Are you saying I wouldn't be able to see through someone's disguise? LOIS: <is not happy about her boyfriend> CLARK: Why does it always come back to her? MADAME Blavatski: Because a good man knows, it's *always* about her. Wise words.
