I'll get it done as soon as I can. I was in the hospital from Friday to Monday, with a kidney stone, blocked ureter and sepsis. OMG, how painful that must have been! My thoughts and prayers are with you for a rapid and complete recovery.

A cave full of dead Patrolmen! (It sure sounds like they're dead, from your description of the smell.) This is ominous. What killed them and is it still out there?

Ooh, dead trolls. I have a hunch this links into the Skelzir globes somehow.

Ooh, new TU story! I always felt a bit sorry for Commander Fong, so this is cool, and of course it's fun to see Jason, Trev & Blashvor again. Fong is so confused by them! <g> Mai Wing is very interesting, and I'd like to know a lot more about her. And I'm still confused about the title. Where's the plague? Is it connected to the Skelzir globe beast? I guess they were originally created as a bio-weapon, so that would sort of make sense...
Sorry to hear about the hospitalization, Nan; hope you're doing much better now!
PJ
"You told me you weren't like other men," she said, shaking her head at him when the storm of laughter had passed. He grinned at her - a goofy, Clark Kent kind of a grin. "I have a gift for understatement." "You can say that again," she told him. "I have a...." "Oh, shut up."

Those Skelzir globes seem pretty dangerous. Who was the dead 'trol with the icy jewelry? What is the significance of it? I'm eagerly awaiting more.

Dang, there's a lot of those globes around, isn't there? Trev's susceptible because he's a power pack; I wonder if Fong is, too? And that thing sounded like a droma to me... I suspect it'll come in handy. Great stuff, Nan, gimme more! PJ

Everyone stopped, and instantly, Fong heard what had already alerted the sharper ears of his companion. A sound behind them -- an odd, moist, "squish-squish" of large feet, placed softly on the cave floor. The sound continued for perhaps five seconds, and then ceased. It's Gollum!

Good solid adventure getting out the cave, and some interesting backstory from the camping guy. And Fong needs to get past his bruised feelings and realize that if *he* thinks it could be a problem for a Strike Commander to fall in love with a psychic, then the psychic in question would definitely realize it, too. Jason summed it up -- he's gonna have to choose which is more important, the girl or his job. And considering the job has been steadily killing him, and that if Mai Wing is a trained psychic she might could slide him into the Underground, it seems pretty much like a no brainer. But then, he's not thinking with his brain right now And, um, the plot's good too. PJ

Trevor drew his blaster, flicked the setting to 'kill' and fired twice.
Blashvor spoke directly to Fong. "Their minds were gone, Strike Commander. They were puppets of these globes, existing only to do the will of their masters. They could never be anything else again." Whoa! I didn't recognize the stakes here. I thought if they got far enough away, they'd be OK. But not so.

Ooh, zombies! I guess they got eaten by the Skelzir globes. How in the world are they going to sneak poor Fong and Trevor past who knows how many globes at the base without that happening to them, too?
Please post more, soon!

Showing that Lois Lane was right to take Small Engine Repair in high school instead of Home Ec. I'm sure she'd be able to fix the engines of the Jilectan yacht if she were there.

She grinned. "Go and ask Lady Vovinthvill. She'll probably be glad to help you out."
"Yeah -- out of my clothes! No thanks!" He pulled her closer. "I prefer my own species." And I'm wondering about this. Cross-species sex - isn't that a little squicky? Why are the Jils attracted to humans?

Maybe. Think of Star Trek, however. In any case, the Jils think of humans in a similar light to the Romans or Egyptians and their slaves. My sister and I were trying to create an alien culture that readers could relate to and understand, even if they didn't approve of it. We took elements from various cultures of the past, and some we dreamed up completely from our imaginations. Remember, Jilectans are not humans, and their values are not ours.

Personally, I think the Jil ladies are bored silly. What else have they got to do, after all?
Good stuff, Nan -- I keep wondering how long it will take for Mai & Fong to realize that they're psychic partners? They'd need to start talking more, I guess, since Fong won't have a clue about Armageddon teams, and Mai doesn't know about Fong's link to her since it's not noticeable on her end. Jason and Trevor certainly know about that type of link but they probably still think it's something Alan did to them. OTOH, Blashvor might recognize the signs.
I tend to read these boards on my work computer and I don't sign in from there, so I can read but not comment. Trust me, I'm following along with this with great interest and enjoyment.
More!

You're probably right, Pam. Except for the few exceptions like Ladies Tranthzill and Jorexzill, of course.
This is horrible, though! We're almost at the end of Plague!!! Please say you're going to work on the sequel to this ASAP, please?

I enjoy Lord Blashvor. His response at the end of the chapter ("bad for business") is amusing and it shows how pragmatic he is. He's willing to work with the Terran Underground, make money, and serve himself all at the same time.
