I loved this! I sometimes find first person present tense a little distracting to read, but you make it work here. Lois's voice is delightful and funny and very much as I imagine it should be. I can't wait to read more, and I'm looking forward to getting caught up on your other stories as well.
"You think I'm just going to turn you loose now? Lois, I've known you far too long to believe that you're just going to give up and go home."
Heh. If he knows her so well, why did he miss this?
