Still, I couldn't help but get the impression that many of you were expecting ... a different kind of ending? Well, Tank, when one is known for coming up with the famous ‘Tank Ending’ named after… well, you know… What else would you expect us to think? Should have hollered for Superman. I liked the second one better. But poor Lois... dead either way. And not a haircut in sight.

Yeah. The second one seemed more likely. Clark's whole "I make you a target so I'm going to leave you" always seemed a little weak just because...well, she's Lois. She's got the connection already, and even without that she's bound to get into trouble.
You know what? I've read all over about the famous "Tank" ending, but this is the first time I actually read one. lol. Very nice. They are aptly named.

hehehe! NOW we recognize you, Tank! I'm most certain this is not the right reaction to have after reading such... mmm... savage, painful deaths... but OMG! I'm laughing my head off here. Really. You're just totally priceless, Tank. It's a good thing you exist cause I don't think any of us would have the imagination needed to invent you! hehehe!

Thank you for showing us by contrast how truly beautiful your fic was.
I think, therefore, I get bananas.

I agree with woody. Couldn't have put it better.
From your - well, you-know-who endings, I liked the first one better, although the second one seems more likely.

Tank, I've really enjoyed your special touch, especially when you and Wendy dueled. You have a great...odd...sense of humor. I really liked the original fic - nice, sweet, just right for when I was snowed in for the second time in a week. However, these Tank endings were just right for the new year! Start us off with the right endings, here! thanks, Tank. You really are a treasure. Mouse

You are too funny. The first one was hilarious, the second just sad. Jackie

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Oh Tank, you have lived up to your name as the writer of evil endings. I really liked your original version better - but knowing that this follow-up post was going to show off your nasty prowess, both versions were written in true "Tank Ending" form. Write on! Anne

The first ending was too funny and the second was priceless, you have to love the irony. I prefer the original ending but I really appreciate the alternates.

Bah. I liked the first ending. Just because you're Tank doesn't mean you just write the tank endings! That doesn't mean I didn't like these two -- the first was probably my favorite. But I definitely don't go into your stories fearing for the ending, unless it's the first part of a challenge!

I appreciate the kind words and really appreciate that you've all taken these so-called 'Tank endings' in the spirit that they were intended.
Tank endings are merely a spoof, they are done with a wink and with tongue in cheek. Admittedly the humor is dark, but that is necessary in order to contrast the 'sweetness' that can be the romance that we normally write.
Tank endings were never meant to be, nor will they ever be, the true ending of any story. Their sheer 'over-the-top' nature blunts any real impact of the death and destruction they may encompass.
They're just fluff.
Thanks again.
Tank (who has consistantly said, they he only originated the 'Tank ending' and has left it to others to perfect them)

Great endings! I too think #2 is the more likely. Artemis
