“I guess you won’t be passing any closed doors in future without knocking,” Mr. Wells assumed, taking the proffered glass.

“You got that right,” Jimmy muttered. He held up his glass. “Cheers.”
Woah. They pre-empted the Jimmy Interuptus! eek
Life will not be the same!!!

Jimmy sat there with his mouth wide open. “Wow,” he finally managed to say. “Did you guys rehearse that?”
Great re-use of a line from a different ep! thumbsup

“Yes, indeed, Ms. Lane, it’s right here,” Mr. Wells answered, taking the instrument out of his pocket. “I got it from the inventor *and* I found out who sent you back in time *and* why.” He sat there looking immensely pleased with himself.
Awwwww, does that mean this adventure is over?? frown

But...we're having so much fun in the past!

Can't we stay a leeeetle longer? Say, rewrite the entire continuity this way?

I have just a little time to post FDK this morning, but I, too, was ROTFLMAOing at this:

Quote
He grinned and went to the window, almost defenestrating himself before he remembered that, tonight at least, they'd have to settle for the local cuisine. Clark sighed and picked up the phone. “Hello, room service?”
rotflol rotflol rotflol rotflol rotflol
("Defenestrate" is one of the more curious English words that I actually knew. A colleague of mine, an almost inexhaustible fountain of knowledge with his roots in the Czech Republic, has actually told me about some important, actual, political defenestrations taking place in Prague in the 15th and 17th centuries!)

Here's an interesting link, including a long list of defenestrations in popular movies like Cinderella, Indiana Jones and Batman Returns:

Defenestration

Loved this part of your story, Sammy! I love your story, period. Keep it coming!

Somehow I don't think Jimmy Interruptus will disappear. He doesn't need to knock at work to get into the conference room, supply room, stairwell... laugh And he knocks before entering the house, apartment, hotel room, anyway.

Hardly. There are *way* too many loose ends yet. Luthor, the baby, the fact that Clark has no powers barely two days before the Prometheus launch and there's no guarantee they'll be back in time.

I already told you how good this story is. thumbsup And all my favourite lines have been quoted already. I must admit, I first stumbled over the 'defenestrate', but my Latin training soon took over.
de: from; off (or 'out of', in this case)
fenestra: window
Plus a suffix making it into an English verb - the meaning is pretty much clear!LOL!

But didn't I tell you to add a SPLUTTER WARNING? wink

Maybe it's the late hour, but for some reason I don't quite know what a 'splutter' warning is ... does that mean something along the lines of "Don't mix drinks with this fic"?
