As we like to keep fanfic and fdk separate on this forum, please provide your fdk for this story here. Thanks! I've removed the following fdk posts from the end of the story itself. (Sorry, but moving actual posts is a bit time-consuming and fiddly and I don't have time to do it right now, so this will have to do. : From Meadowrose: I like it. A good start! How soon is part 2 coming? From Suez: From There Is No Spoon: LabRat
Athos: If you'd told us what you were doing, we might have been able to plan this properly. Aramis: Yes, sorry. Athos: No, no, by all means, let's keep things suicidal.

Ecchh! You do such horrible things to Lois! The only good thing about this beginning is that her hair has surely had a chance to grow out by now.
Of course, "four years later" might mean four years to her, or four years to Clark. Or both. Maybe their relative time frames will remain concurrent, meaning a day for Lois will be a day for Clark also. And if that's true, what has happened to Superman in those four years? Has Clark gone mad trying to find Lois? Has he called in the future cavalry? Or has he withdrawn from society altogether?
Tank, I've lived in Kanasa (many years ago), and I've driven through the state a number of times, and something has to have happened in order to empty out the place. The state isn't desolate today, but there are a lot of wide open spaces, and if Tempus dropped Lois off in a field lying fallow it might look as though civilization has been destroyed. But surely there are people somewhere, even in 2248! How would Lois survive otherwise?
And why the blanket? Why give her a blanket at all? What's the symbolism? How significant will it be? Will it be her means to life, or did Tempus steal it from some tribe living primitively and they get angry at Lois for just having it?
Yeah, continue it! It would be too cruel not to at this point.

*screams* TANK!!!!! Get right back here, mister, and start writing this story. A 280 year old Clark, alone for 250 years, will find his Lois again. Wow. So what happened to poor Clark? Did he remarry after 80 years. Did he try to slice his wrists with green-K after 150 years? Did he go mad after 200 years? Come on, give. Michael, furiously looking for PS: And Tank, with Wendy gone to cheat on Superman with that British guy, you better better make this with a happy ending instead of a T&W-challange, you hear me

Always interested in a new Tank fic. But is this a continuation of your Future series? Superman will now be an old man (I figure about 80, given his age in L & C)- will his powers be diminished? How will he have matured? - is he wiser for example? What about Lois's 2048 self? So many questions, I know Oh, and the really big questions: Has Clark's taste in ties changed (are there still ties??) How long will Lois's hair be by the end of the story? c.

Count me in! You said Superman is still around - what does that mean? He's around as in physically around or around as in "statues and mementos" Hoping Clark's aging process slowed well enough...
If she had to move heaven and Earth, perhaps come back to haunt Perry and explain the story after they'd killed her, she would do it.

Let me know if there would be any interest in a story like this if I should choose to continue it. If there's any interest? You're kidding, right? Can't wait to see where this is going.

Hmmm well I usually read your stories. My only complaint is Lois always has her hair cut.<g> Anyway, I'll read it when it is done so I don't go nuts waiting for the parts. Sounds like a good start though.

so maybe this really isn't Clark Kent-Superman, but his descendant? Hard for me to picture Clark having a descendant who's not also Lois's descendant. Of course, that would create some interesting twists, having Lois's great-great-great-great-grandson fall madly in love with her. But I think that Tank will put Lois back together with her own Clark by the end of the story. Of course, I've been wrong before.

Hard for me to picture Clark having a descendant who's not also Lois's descendant. Impossible for me. So what has Tank in mind? All sorts of possibilities. c.

Okay, I guess this means I'll have to start thinking about actually writing this.
It will be a while yet before this starts hitting the boards. I like to build up a decent buffer (or have finished the shorter stories)before posting.
I have a fuzzy idea where I'm going with this, but that could easily change. Right now I see Lois being stranded in some sort of post apocolyptic America. Exactly what sort of apocolypse was suffered I haven't decided on yet.
Lois becomes aware of rumors and talk about some mystery man who she is convinced is Superman. The story will probably revolve around her search for him.
With television being so bad I've been looking for an excuse to do some writing again, but my biggest problem is motivating myself to actually do it. I'm incredibly lazy and just haven't felt like writing. Hopefully the interest indicated by the gentle readers will be that push I need to get started.
Tank (who hasn't decided about Lois' hair yet... sure he hasn't)

/me nudges Tank. Might I add one more gentle reader's plea to continue? Interesting that Tempus would dump Lois even further into the future than his own timeline. Can't wait to read more. BJ
