“Okay,” Mayson sighed and shot Lois another angry glance. Her eyes were gleaming dangerously and suddenly she started to smile, sure of her victory. “I just came to ask you, if you’d like to spend the weekend with me. I’ve got a cabin in the mountains. It’s cold there, but there’s a fire-place and...” her voice trailed off, leaving the rest to imagination.

Lois heart missed a beat. This sly....! She couldn’t think of any swearword that would have even come close to describing Mayson. That woman was set on winning Clark over and Lois was beginning to fear that she would be successful. Honestly, Clark couldn’t but happily accept Mayson’s offer. Any man would rather want a caring woman who smiled at him, worshipping him for everyone to see. Why would he choose the snarling fury that lashed out at him and wouldn’t even give him a chance to explain anything? There wasn’t actually a choice, was there?
No, I guess there isn’t.

What a sweet and spunky ending, Barbara. The stand-off between Lois and Mayson sort of reminded me of the high noon dueling scenes in a western. clap Is it wrong to enjoy a good Lois&[insert female LnC character] cat-fight?

I, too, could see Lois and Mayson exchange stares of venom! I mean, I could see them shoot daggers from their eyes!!! If looks could kill...!!!!

Well, Clark certainly chose Lois over Mayson. Good for him!!!! And Lois finally told him that she loved him. And she did it before Dan Scardino invited her to Paris!!! Wheeeee!!!! thumbsup

It might have started as a Nightmare for Lois and Clark but the ending seemed like a dream comme true. It was a wonderful story.

I loved the addition of Mayson at the end. Way to make things complicated! And it was a great way to get Lois to learn what had really happened with Clark without her having to back down.

Great story, Barbara!

Very nicely done! What a sweet story. I've enjoyed every word.

Wow, so many replies. Thanks a lot. It's great to read that you liked my story.

I thought that Mayson would be to much when my German beta kind of suggested to include her as well. Much to her and my pleasure, she fitted in. I'm glad that you think so, too.
