I really should sleep now because I have to get up in fife hours and I haven't read parts 27-31 yet but I just have to say 'aww' because of this:
Quote
“Lois?”

“Yes, Kal.”

“What we just did ... what is that called?”

“Making love.”

He smiled. “Yes! I loved you so much ... but now I love you more. We *made* love.”

“We did,” Lois said with a long, satisfied sigh.
Those lines are worth the lack of sleep laugh

Yippie! Nice chapter even without the nfic. A spaceship is a good thing. Maybe they will find the answers and the page that was missing literally and figuratively. Looking forward to more. Laura

Yay! A spaceship!!!!! What other interesting things might we find?

One thing I don't get about the Offering Your Life law. The deal was Kal's life in exchange for Lois going to Yent, right? But Lois didn't go to Yent. So it seems like the deal should be off. confused

Not that anything with Lois was ordinary.
Kal, you have no idea!!!

I like the fact that they are doing something about the concubine law. Lois is right. Za will be very good for this planet.

I was a little surprised that Tek knew about Kal's supposed hiatus. Kal made it sound like the only ones who knew were Ked and Yent.

Quote
She grinned at him and righted his world.
I love that quote!

One more thing, if Lois and Kal do make it to Earth, they've got to do something about that brand on her hand. It wouldn't be good for Lois to show up with Superman's crest.

Excellent description of Kal's first experience with making love. It's been a while since we've seen him grapple with something new on the emotion/expression front, and his wonder and innocent naivete is refreshing.

Yes, Lois, marriage changes things. You can't just go off half-cocked any more, because you're not the only one paying the consequences of your actions. Marriage means that Lois now has to coordinate her plans with her husband and Kal has a reason not to just give in to his self-imposed death sentence.

One note: When you mention tension in pants in this context, the first thing that comes to mind is not 'easing.' You might want to rethink that image. wink blush

ROTFL about HappyGirl's "tension in his pants" inference. I admit I had exactly the same thought when I read it! clap

I'm ready for chapter 33! And I'll just keep hoping that it will keep going past 38. wink

Lois watched the tension ease from Kal’s pants as he straightened.

So, part 33 when? 36 more hours?

Kathryn Hi there.

I'm glad you like the lines. I hope life slows down a bit so you can get to some reading - and writing! Thanks.

Thanks for leaving FDK, Artemis !

Laura Thanks. A spaceship is good, but does it answer questions or pose more questions?

What we need is an investigative reporter! wink

lcfan The Offering Your Life - Kal offered his life in return for Nor NOT taking Lois. Nor didn't and continues not to (!), therefore Kal is still held to his part of the deal.

Quote
I was a little surprised that Tek knew about Kal's supposed hiatus. Kal made it sound like the only ones who knew were Ked and Yent.
Kal actually said a few things about his people that weren't correct. (No one mentions the old war, no one knows about my hiatus.) This was meant to show how alone and out-of-touch he'd been kept. Part of Ked's plan was to ensure the people thought of Kal as distant and aloof.

The brand on the hand - uhmm. wink

Thanks for your FDK.

HappyGirl Thanks for the comment re Kal and Lois making love. It can be difficult to know where to stop - but I wanted to keep it well short of nfic.

About Kal's pants!

Lois is behind Kal and he is bending over looking into the bag. What is she most likely looking at? The cave walls? The sand?

No - she's probably looking at his butt.

I didn't want to actually use that word because I wanted to make it clear that she is looking at his pants and not through them!

I realise that with the chapter break, it may have been easy to forget their orientation.

Thanks for your comment - Maybe I could start the section with 'Kal really did have a very nice butt,' and then no one would think anything else!!

Kathy Ching - yes, he did get more than he deserved. We will touch on him again later.

Quote
Not that I minded Kal catching up to her -- his shock over her suggestion they have quickie sex in the tunnel was worth the price of admission ("it was possible??" )
It didn't take long for him to get over his shock - his very next question was 'Can you look (for Tek)?'

Thanks, Kathy.

But Lois knows Kal is a gentleman!

Loved your interplay between Ching and Za!

Not sure when 33 will be ready. 35 is written, but needs work and it's unlikely I'll get any time to write tomorrow.

Thanks, Michael.

For some reason, I imagined Kal would just naturally assume love-making, like sample-taking, was a once-a-month activity. I actually had a little conversation running in my head of Kal's reaction upon learning he didn't have to wait another 30 days before they could be intimate again! laugh

And, while I'm on the topic, I have to admit my mind must have been in the gutter while reading about the easing of the tension in Kal's pants, because my first reaction was to assume you meant that Kal had, um, "lost interest", so to speak. blush Maybe you need to specify that said tension was in the *seat* of Kal's pants.

I loved Kal asking for words to describe how he feels, and Lois admitting she doesn't have any more.

Things are definitely moving along now that Nor is dead. The appearance of a spaceship is great and I'm hoping that there is some kind of recording in the ship about where Kal was hidden all those years. I hope we do get closure on several things before they leave, such as finding Kal's globe, discovering a cure for ReSet and solving the water/energy crisis for the Kryptonians (maybe Lois can become a human drill long enough to dig the well?).

I also would like to see that Ching pays for his duplicity, or that Kal's reputation is cleared somewhat by his people knowing that his situation was manufactured by his enemies. Not sure that it would change anything, but it irritates me that Ching not only got away with it, but was rewarded. drool

They're so cute together! It would be nice if Ann were at least a little right about it being a long trip to earth. It'd give them time for a proper honeymoon wink

/sighs. Of course, if it takes longer than a day or so, they'll need to go into hiatus because they won't have enough food or water to last a long voyage. I guess I'll have to wait for that honeymoon.

How much longer do we have to wait for the next part? More soon, please.

Vicki Uhmm - once a month. I think Kal thought it was just too good to wait that long for a repeat. wink

Seat - perfect word. It will convey the back of his pants without suggesting she was looking through them.

Next part is up.

Thanks, Vicki.

Brenda From your list of requests - we get most of them! I hope that's going to be good enough.

Thanks for leaving FDK.

LOL. For sure. I thought Kal would assume he was *supposed* to wait; I definitely didn't think he would *want* to!

Off to read Part 33.....
