You've captured the tortured mind really well.
Thank you!

I'm not sure that one event can bring peace to a mind that is so stressed, but I'd really like to see a sequel where the father did something that managed to convince his son of his love.
Or at least have the son question some of his beliefs about the way his father views him.
Corrina.
Unfortunately, it can't happen like that. Johnny* likely grew up knowing that his parents love him very much, but the sickness plants the ideas in his head. Paranoid Schizophrenia is not something you can reason with, because the very capacities for logic and reason are bent. "The reason your car won't start is because you're wearing a hat", for example. That's what makes it scary; the fact that you can't reason your way out of it.
Also, Johnny's own illogical paranoia aside, the story technically isn't his own thought processes. Rather, the narrator is a voice that he keeps hearing constantly. It's not necessarily how he thinks, but he's constantly hearing it and can't tune it out. Eventually, he's going to listen, especially since his ability to reason for himself is impaired.
In short, there is nothing Clark can do. There is nothing Johnny can do. There is no sudden epiphany that will solve everything. All they can do is keep him medicated so that his emotions are balanced and the voices stop, and do their best to make him feel safe and comforted.
*Although his name was never officially given, I mentally call him Johnny. It just seems right. Maybe someday I'll give it in a sequel.
