Wow! I think these are some of my favorite parts! I love the way you've portrayed HG Wells (I was laughing at the way he viewed cars, particularly Lois's driving) and the tension inherent in the scene as he struggles to make her believe even while time is ticking.
What I love most is the way Lois, even though still mad at Clark for running off, really understands him. I got goosebumps when she said that the world might survive finding out that Clark was Superman but Clark wouldn't.
Another favorite part is when she realizes that he's planning on telling the world who he is to forestall any more painful moments in thinking he can have a normal life. When Lois explained how he was trying--reluctantly--to destroy Clark...wow!
Loving this story--sorry it's taken me so long to get to it!
