Lois and Clark actually met 10 years earlier? The premise is perfect: starting with Clark hating Metropolis, then meeting the love of his life, and ending with him firmly deciding to make the city his own. The description of the lemonade made me thirsty! DC this was simply the best!

Well done, DC. It's always a challenge to get the characterization right on younger versions of major characters, but I think you nailed these two. I loved your detailed description of the park, too. Happy summer!

Thank you, Sydney! You're the second person to request a sequel. (I got another such request on fanfiction.net.) This was intended to be a one-shot, but, well, my muse will never turn away a request. Whether or not she actually comes up with one is a different story...

"It's been a whole day since we toured it, and you haven't said a word about it." As discreetly as he could, he gave the girl a once-over with his eyes. His heart fluttered in his chest. […] Even at perhaps sixteen, she exuded femininity. Looks like he’s found Lois. Clark wondered idly if he was seeing only a fraction of her accomplishments. With his speed-vision ability, he took them all in. It appeared she was a member of Troop 182, and had completed some of the more difficult badges. Yeah, she left all the cooking badges ‘at home’. And "But...maybe tomorrow night?" Lois offered.

Hi Darthy! Bingo. Yep. He’s not a grown-up yet. Not quite. So, how’s he going to meet Lois? Random chance. I’m sure they could bench press a rake or a shovel. Good point. I might actually add something to that effect in when I prep it for the archive. He could be anonymous. A…blurr. Looks like he’s found Lois. Who else? It sure as heck isn't Lana.  Yeah, she left all the cooking badges ‘at home’. And at the lost chance to use the 181st. There's a badge for setting the kitchen on fire while attempting to make cookies? Needle work. Embroidery. Poetry. Dancing. Not in the late 80's early 90's when I was a Girl Scout. Oh wait, Needle is the name of her sword, right? She's a "water dancer?" That’s what they’re called now?  I *knew* someone would make that comment! Way to go to make an impression. At least he's handsome? Besides, breaking a girl's hand is *not* a way to score a date. Looks like he’s making up points. And then some. That’s …They’re never going to make enough money for a trip that way It's *very* hot. Besides, my old high school would let the sports teams do bake sales. I think they did okay actually, charging no more than 25 or 50 cents for items.  But maybe it’s for the best. Maybe... And I concur, a squeeel would be nice My muse has been asked for a sequel. She has not yet responded. She's trying to get through the 5 or so other fics she's trying to juggle. But good to know a sequel would be welcome!

When I was a scout in the late 80's and early-to-mid nineties, I don't remember doing any cooking to earn badges, other then going camping and making hotdogs over a sterno and coffee can. But I *do* remember there being a really, really large selection of badges to go for, so it's possible that Lois could earn tons and never have to touch cooking.
