It seems that Clark had been closer to Lois than we knew. Her lieing atop him in her bikini, skimpy bikini at that. Her having him unty the back of her bikini top, this is very close connection.
Come to think of it, his taking her shirt off after the attack of the boa constrictor is such a close action.
One thing is for sure. These flashbacks have made it clear the loss of Lois is much worse this time around. She had been wearing his ring, pretending to be his wife in all sorts of situations. In fact anyone observing them at any point would have assumed they were married.
OK, they never went all the way.
Lois' death is now even harder. I am still wondering what Clark is going to do to try and fix the situation.
