I wonder if he'll tell Clark his story of the coffee vender someday. Great one-shot! I've never seen anyone have Perry notice it on day one, but I love the idea that he noticed what Lois doesn't. He's so right that she's more concerned about her career as top dog than a small detail. Excellent.

Ha! Perry definitely didn't become editor because he knew how to yodel. Very fun! You left me with a big ol' smile on my face. Kathy

This was awesome! I like the way Perry knows right away, and the story of *why* he knows right away. Now, I kinda wish he told Lois the coffee vendor story.

Hi Corrina,
Wonderful short!
I always wondered about that myself.
I can identify with you. I think my first short was Hurricane. It feels good just to prove to yourself that you can, in fact, do it (he says as he prepares to start posting another epic.).

Trust Perry to spot something EVERYONE else missed.
Great story!

Loved it! I've never read a Perry POV story, but this one was on point.
Clark: "Lois, you know, I really hope someday that you learn, that sometimes what it seems like people are doing isn't what they're really doing." Lois: "What are you, a fortune cookie?"

Thanks for the response everyone (including Katie, Kismatt, and MozartMaid). I figured that if anyone was going to notice the little brown spot, it would be Perry. Then, I just had to give him some background to make it more plausible. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

When I was starting out as a junior reporter, my editor taught me the importance of detail. Perry knows. a few thousand ever-circulating Elvis facts There was a faint scar running down his left cheek to his jaw. My editor allowed me to write the story. It was my first front-page byline. What a great circle-back! but the little freckle perched above the right side of his mouth. Adorable freckle at that, I might add! I have learned well, but as a teacher, I have to accept failure. Love this. What a great story. Perry is sooo awesome. And yes, I think there are definite moments where we are supposed to believe that he knows.
