Denny's character is seldom ever written about so that is a change of pace. Clark's warmth and understanding was very helpful for the youngster. It is encouraging to know he wants to reach out to them.

Quote
He nodded and she led him out. When they were in the room with the door closed she said, “We are about to own 348 Hyperion.” Looking into the other room they could see the happy expressions on both of the boy’s faces as they talked animatedly. Lois continued, “Why don’t we let them stay with us, at least for a while? That way we could keep an eye on them. I think they need some caring adult role models really badly.”
Lois is suggesting that a couple of kids move in with them?

Quote
Clark joined them and said, “I just spoke to the realtor. We got lucky. The current owner is available and we can sign the rest of the papers and close in an hour.” He turned to the boys and said, “That means that the house will be ours today. The house has been vacant for some time because the previous owner had already moved to a larger house and because of their growing family they wanted to move to the suburbs. That means that this afternoon we have a lot of shopping to do. We need four beds, dressers, curtains, living room furniture and kitchen equipment. Let’s see, we also need to get Denny some school clothes and work clothes for Jack.”

Jack spoke up, “I can’t let you do that. I’ll get us what we need when I have some money.”

Clark said, “Look at it as a loan. You can pay us back a little at a time, but you need these things now.”
This is a little hard to believe. Also, I don't think Jack would allow himself to show his attraction for Lucy. That's just not the way he was.

How old is Lucy in this story?

Hi Morgana,

Thanks for the FDK!

Remember, this is the universe where everyone knows that CK=SM and they got the loan from the Superman Foundation.

I agree that Denny was left out in the series. He will have more 'face time' in this story.

Hey! Where did this loan discussion come from?

Denny- Clark a Father figure

Jack- Is a cool character and would NEVER let on so quickly that he liked anyone.

Lucy- Old enough to date the boss?

Hi Morgana,

A few chapters ago, when SM was called away for the emergency in Australia. Lois called Murray and asked if they could obtain a loan through the Foundation. He agreed to provide an interest free loan.

Well, let's check the timeline. At this point Lois is about 25 which would make Lucy about 21.

Jack is around 16 - an age when his hormones are raging. Seeing a pretty girl like Lucy couldn't help but get him stirrid up. She is only about 5 years older than him.

Lucy and James started dating in college out in California. They drifted apart when Lois was lost. Lois had been a surrigate mother to Lucy because of their alcoholic mother.
