It looks like Queenie and I independently came up with the same location for a challenge story in reply to the 2020 Kerth Week One Challenge. I have not read hers yet; that will wait until morning-proper... My muse inspired me in the middle of the night (It is 2:45am as I type), and I wanted to get my story down while Thalia was with me. (She has been social distancing from me for most of this past year.) I wrote my story before seeing Queenie had posted, and I read just enough of hers to realize two things:

1) Her story is sufficiently different from mine to warrant my posting my story despite their shared locale.
2) As always, her writing is infinitely superior to my own.

I hope you enjoyed Down in the Dumps? but I would welcome feedback either way.

Thanks,
Lynn

Definitely cute! laugh

I like how you turned the "unromantic" locale into a romantic one by tying it into Lois and Clark's personal history; definitely a stroke of brilliance there. I'm also disproportionately pleased at Lois being the one to propose. *g*

Major kudos! (And thanks for all the flattery ^_^)

I like the idea that Lois would propose at such a place. Nicely done. And welcome back, Lynn. My best wishes to your muse. I hope she won't resume to keeping her distance.

“Clark, you managed to see the good in me when no one else could. You have dedicated your life to making things better: Both you-Clark and you-Superman give your all to bring out the best in people and to make the entire city and world a better place. You have even managed to make me see this dump as special. So it seemed only fitting that this would be the place I would ask you…” Lois sank to one knee. “Clark Kent, will you marry me?”

What a howl! Let the Kerth challenges begin! hyper

Aww, very sweet! I was actually just thinking that the Sewage Plant would make a perfect setting for this challenge. Bravo for packing such a sweet story into such few words. I really wish I had the talent you possess!

Crazy_Babe, thanks for taking the time to leave feedback. smile

Queenie, I'm glad you enjoyed my story; I certainly enjoyed yours as well.

Bakasi, thanks for the well wishes. I, too, hope my muse stays nearby.

Morgana, I'm looking forward to seeing what the remaining Kerth challenge prompts are, as well as seeing what stories are inspired by them.

Deadly Chakram, I guess the grass is always greener... I've always admired your ability to spin much longer yarns.

Be well all,
Lynn

“Just one last thing…” She sensed them leave the ground as they kissed.
Just how private are they? I mean, police? Onlookers?

she asked Clark to take them to the Metropolis Sewage Reclamation Facility.
One last dump for old time’s sake?

It is here that I started to respect you, and that respect was the start of my love for you.
Yeah, they can never tell anyone even their normal meet-cute story.

Did she hide the ring in there? Isn’t that still kind of risky?

Aww.. See?

CLARK: You were mad enough to throw out both Superzilla and his sidekick Ringlet?

You have even managed to make me see this dump as special.
Aww they found a new place for date night.

I sure had fun there, Lynn! Thanks for the giggles.
