The one word that comes to my mind is reckless -- Lois takes chances and attempts things I'd never even *think* of doing. But that's not exactly it, because she's so darned good at rescuing herself from whatever predicament she's landed herself in; things that would get me killed get her terrific scoops. Courageous risk-taker? I can't think of the right word.
Also very smart (despite above-noted recklessness) -- give her a few facts and she'll figure out how they all fit together. Leaps of logic and intuition are her specialities.
