Don't ask me why, but as a revelation that had me
Delightful for Lois to recognize, and visualize!, that it's the Clark in Superman that she loves. Well done on her part -- oh, yeah, and on your part, too.
I personally get irritated when people quote people in casual conversation, because I don't find it casual. Clark never did it on the show. If it doesn't bother anyone else, ignore me.

On the other hand...
It’s going on for three in the morning.
I never correct UK prose, but since this is Clark's dialogue, this sounded a bit off to me. "It's nearly 3 in the morning," or "almost 3 in the morning," would be a lot more American, I think. 'Course, I'm not the final arbiter, but you might want to ask for another opinion.
