Good point, Maria! I edited the final version a bit to explain:
Lois found her mind wandering as she and Clark walked back to the Apollo in the pre-dawn hour. They'd seen no sense in flying back when they could just as easily talk as they walked, though, if she was honest with herself, it was because she'd been a tad uncomfortable with the idea of him holding her.
Does that work a bit better?
