Poor, heartbroken Lois and Clark. It was catch 22 for both of them.
I think Clark should have prepared the ground for his unusual confession. It isn't something easy to believe, especially without proof.
I hope it's Jane trying to help Clark. I wouldn't be surprised if Jane had known (or suspected) more about Clark than he realized.
