If I remember correctly there's been one or two comics where Clark is stuck on a cruise ship in the 90s or so, if there's people interested in possible inspiration. Don't remember when, though.

CLARK: Yeah. Let's face it, ever since she's known me, Lois's been kidnapped, frozen, pushed off buildings, almost stabbed, poisoned, buried alive and who knows what else, and it's all because of me.
