You are an absolute master at creating mood - the raw emotion just crackles off the page! I love the politeness that everyone displays, and how evident it is that they're all just using that politeness to mask what they're really feeling and all the things they just can't express. How true it is when you just say, "I'm fine", even though everyone knows you're not - socially acceptable lies that everyone recognizes as such and that no one will ever point out. Extraordinary.
