This was beautiful. I’m glad that things are finally heading in the right direction. I agree they do have a long road ahead, but the first step is always the hardest. I’d be interested in seeing how Lois’ relationship with Martha is because while she’s always been non-judgemental, she’s also very protective of Clark and shrewd person that she is, she can no doubt read between the lines of and would clearly know if there was something not said.
What is clear though is that she dearly loves her two grandchildren and would be as fiercely protective of them as she is of Clark. I laughed at the image of Jonathan having to sleep in the barn for two days after a fight because that is so Martha! It reminded me of Chi of Steel where she and Jonathan swapped roles after his whole speech about why men should have a mens club especially when he asked Clark to help him out and Clark (very wisely) under the combined gazes of the two most important women in his life didn’t say anything
