So glad you love the story. We have to thank the show's writers for creating the concept of New Krypton (and Lord Nor). As a significant remnant of Superman's culture we get to see more of what his father's people were like. Understanding the history and background allows you as the reader to appreciate their motivations and actions. In the show, Clark did not feel a connection to the people, but here I wanted him to have closer ties.
