I know I have spent time trying to find an old story that isn't on the Archives and is older than the maximum date range for searches here.
I had this problem too. You can run an older search but how to do it isn't obvious. Click on the date range dropdown and select the
blank option that's above Day, Week, Month, or Year. This will ignore the date range and give you results of any age.
