Its hard to imagine Clark Kent entering the Daily Planet building and not coming out with a reporter's job.
This Clark is a bit different I believe. He's lost his parents and in Lois he has someone he desperately wants to protect. He didn't want anyone to link Clark and Superman, so he spent his life adrift.
With Trask gone and Lois finally grown up he might reconsider.
