As for the "proof" there at the end, I think it's proving that she's not trying to exploit Superman; he can trust her not to reveal too much.
This bit I really liked:
"Do you think you'll ever tell me where you live?"
Superman stopped walking and she had to stop abruptly and turn around. He looked almost wistful, but maybe that was the dim lighting. "I hope so. Someday."
So sweet and a little sad... nicely done!
