COMMENTS! *happy dance*
Ann, Terry, have I *told* you guys lately that I love you? Because I do. Thank you so much for this — I swear, y'all just don't know how you've bolstered my ego when it comes to this story, helping convince me that it's worth the read. *hugs all around*
Ann, your comments left me awestruck. I always get a little happy glow behind my heart when a reader picks out my own favorite parts.
And this just made me laugh out loud:
Dan Scardino was not "dropped behind a wagon", as we say in Swedish.
I love this expression! I must use it in a sentence ASAP.
Also, I know the interplay between Clark and Lois was almost unbearably short in this chapter, but I'm glad to see you enjoyed the "Probably definitely"/"Definitely definitely" exchange!
And I'm so so *so* happy to hear that Mayson and Dan's banter is working! I agonized over getting it right and am still not entirely satisfied — but those two are proving so much fun to write, it's worth the sleep deprivation and bald patches on my scalp.
Ooh, I do have one question:
"He's that nice of a guy" - I'd never have dared to use that expression myself. My sense of English grammar is too uncertain and too rigid.
Did that line work for you? I break the rules of the English language left and right (I'm the proverbial bull in an antique shop, really), and am just wondering if that came off as awkward or if it read okay. (I know the construction is unconventional, but I was hoping it would translate on the page, especially since Mayson's drifting toward sleep and the drugs are kicking in. *crosses fingers*)
And Terry, your comments were absolutely marvelous! Thank you so much for reading and offering such incredible feedback. And I'm so so *so* glad you didn't see that cliffhanger coming.
Seriously, guys, you're absolute stars. Thanks again for reading!!
