Creating a child was easy, being a parent was not.
The next few days were going to give Lisa’s father a chance to show what sort of man he was. For Lisa’s sake, Lois hoped that he was a good one.
Otherwise Lois would be the one who had to pick up all the pieces.
That was perfect! You've hit the nail dead solid perfect. It's easy to create a child. All that means is that your plumbing works correctly. Being a parent is by far the hardest thing I've ever done. Of course, I've never been elected to public office, but I do know a surgeon who's told me that it's easier to cut open a patient's throat than be a good daddy.
Where should this go? Clark should talk to Lois about how to deal with Lisa and listen and do what Lois and Lisa want him to do. It's too late for him to make any decisions for her. And he should scour the nation for all the women he's bedded in the intervening years and find out how many little Clarkies he's scattered around. And if he punks out on Lisa, he'd better be prepared for the Superman "experiment" to come to a sudden and screeching halt. Lois could write a story exposing him as a deadbeat dad, and his public image would take a tremendous hit. Not to mention putting Clark's privacy at risk, since Superman would have had to have been on Earth in order to father a child - unless he tries that "alien abduction" excuse. Nah! Who'd fall for that one?
Still not clear on what happened with or to Lana. Did they just break up or did something happen to her that made him seek out women while wearing the red bracelet? What will Joshua think, and what will he say to Clark? And who is he, anyway? Why is he in a wheelchair? Did Clark have anything to do with that, either by commission or by omission?
So many questions, so much more for you to tell, Shayne. Keep it coming!
