Michael, my knowledge of Star Trek stops at that weird finger thingy, so I have no idea about Klingons, but it does sound like an interesting possibility.
I think by "weird finger thingy" you are thinking of Vulcans as in "Live Long and Prosper"and the splayed hand spread with a V between the fingers.
Klingons are the dudes with the wrinkly foreheads, eat blood happily and say "It's a good day to die!"
This is not to be confused with the Jaffa on Stargate SG-1 who yell "Jaffa Kree" and have a gold medallion in their foreheads.
