Umm... we're nowhere near the end
. Though this chapter of their lives [the perpetual miscommunications] is coming to an end, its not going straight to a bed of roses - or maybe it is - roses do have thorns after all...

As for tortuous deaths, have you read Fox's Book of Martyrs?
