I DO hope so, or on the day after Chris's fifth birthday, when Clark gets his so dreamed divorce and Chris ask him why he's leaving, he'll probably tell him:

"Hey, brat, you should thank me. I couldn't be with my lifelong love for five years because I was being noble and putting up with your mother to keep you safe." Chris's lips start quivering. Clark shakes his head. "You're a spoiled child. How can you be so selfish after all that I did for you?"
