Lois has been privy to his secret. She hasn't blown it. On a day-to-day basis she has protected him, so that he can dump her in five years if he wants to and go on with his life with his public reputation intact. Isn't that love?
In a word: no. She isn't protecting him. She's maintaining the public facade of a real marriage for the same reason he is--to protect Christopher from Navance. The only difference is that Clark is trying to protect her
and Christopher. In no way is this about either of them protecting
Clark's reputation.
