And where do Kal-El's father and brother come from? Wasn't it stated in your story that a) his father was Jor-El, who had died already (also said in your story) and b) that Lara didn't have any other children? Right now, I don't know if I'm going to read the sequel. 
The father and son were sickness/divine/afterlife projections of Jor El and the child she lost.
