Thanks for the kind words! I was nervous about posting this, so it's really great to hear these reactions.
I'm glad the ending worked -- they kind of went wordless on me. Not a whole lot of dialog in this story, though, so I guess it didn't seem too out of place.
His promise to explain later why he was in the bathroom for so long held some potential, particularly since he didn't say something like, "I found a book in the bathroom and I wanted to scan to the ending."
Yep. Now, mind you, "later" could be a few weeks or months...
but he did want to tell her sometime.
And she's so subtle -- but look, she's checking the water level before she jumps!
Anyway, I really appreciate you all taking the time to tell me you enjoyed this... it makes me want to write more
but I really don't know when I'd have time for that... <sigh> Classes for the winter quarter started yesterday, and tomorrow we're going to visit relatives, so I get to do homework while on vacation!
