I like him "whizzing by" too. I noticed "bare", but it works for me either way. Take credit for it, that's my motto.

Yes, I think it is better encountering Superman first in her own home, though she doesn't really realize it yet. As for the ring, maybe he was starting to change to Clark and put it on first?
I like the ring on Superman.
