that line about Clark alone probably postponed Clark having any non-SM chances with Lois significantly.
Sadly, alt-Clark doesn't have the patience or poise of canon Clark to resist rising to anger, when Lois pushes his buttons.
I am pretty sure he would say "got to be kidding" or "gotta be kidding".
