“It’s smoldering hot, Clark,” Lois said, fanning herself with a file as she approached his desk. “How can you wear a jacket and tie in this heat?”
Is he trying to give away his secret identity? Shouldn't he pretend the heat bothers him.
Even Perry had given up professional attire that morning when the thermometer had reached 90
When in the DP, do as the editor.
“Mind over matter, Lois. I’m not hot,” Clark replied.
He really does seem to want to give his identity away.
She glared at him. “Well, I am. I’d do anything to cool off.”

Now what sort of thing can Clark come up with to cool her off that will help him.
He is trying to think of how to use this as an excuse to get closer to her.
Did he just ask if she wants someone to share the shower with her?
A part of her was secretly pleased that the heat hadn’t made Clark sweat, but she had.
Is there anything that Lois can't get Clark to do?
She leaned towards him, and said in a husky voice, “Get Superman to make it rain, and I’ll let you join me in the shower.”

Now Superman will do that for sure, no other possibility.
Clark slipped out of his chair and hit the floor with a thud. “You weren’t joking about the heat making people change, Lois,” he said with a gulp.
Is he going to try to keep her to her word as he seems to have interpreted it.
Her partner should have known she was talking about the rain shower.
That is to say, she knows he is thinking of an actual shower in her bathroom, and she has not said anything to disuade him from this view.
Clark! He had contacted Superman who had brought in the rain. Clark had done it! She could just kiss him!
Well, she is sort of right. Now if only he was her to take her up on the matter.
Well, not kiss him, kiss him.
What other type of kissing is there. Would this be a non-kiss like on Trask's plane, oh wait, that kiss was plenty real.
Kent was lucky his parents, Wayne Irig, Jimmy, and the Sheriff Harris were all right there, or who knew what she could have been capable of?
Wait, how does this make Kent lucky? Would he have not been more lucky if all those people had not been there, and Lois had shown him physicially how she really felt about him?
Clark stood on the landing by the front door, dry under the overhang.
Someone should tell him Lois prefers wet Clark.
“Isn’t that why you’re here?” she teased. “To come into the shower with me?”
He was thinking the promised shower would be indoors, no?
Clark flushed. “No, I just wanted to make sure you made it home safely.”
Don't believe him Lois. Its not like he brought a snowstorm.
“Well, you got me wet first,” she retorted.
Does she know who he is?
His jaw dropped. “I did?”
He thinks so.
Sucker! Lois always knew how to play her partner. She strolled back to the sidewalk. “Got you wet.”
She grabbed his tie and ran it through her fingers squeezing the water out of it. “Don’t you think it’s time to take this off?” she asked, moving her fingers up to his knot to loosen it.
If they are going to have a joint shower, it might as well not be in formal clothing.
He set his hands down on hers to stop her. “You’re just as soaked, Lois, and I’m not asking you to take off your clothes,” he reminded her.
Now where is the fun of that. Clark should realize you are supposed to help people out of their wet clothes.
Her eyes snapped up to his. Yeah, what was up with that?
See, she knows he is missing a perfect opportunity.
