Lois agreeing not to reveal Lenny's connection to Lex? She may not reveal it, but who says that someone else might not stumble across the information, eh? Another intrepid reporter, perhaps.
Of course, knowing the bad guys, they probably wouldn't understand the distinction so Lois is probably dead anyway. Too bad, she had potential (just needed the proper haircut).
