Wish On A Star
I’ve wished on every star, even a planet or two
Just waiting for my dreams to come true
I’m hoping that he will come soon,
The man who wants to give me the Earth, the moon.
I don’t know if I can wait much longer
The loneliness is consuming me and getting stronger.
Are you the one? Standing in the corner
In disguise, my knight in shining armor?
Are you the tall one, the strong one
Who sits drinking coffee all alone?
You probably already have someone
Not that you’d have noticed me, the ugly, shy one
I know there is someone out there just for me
Maybe he’s lonely and shy, just like me.
Does he sit alone at night and wonder?
Does he have the same longing, the same hunger?
What if I’ve already passed him by
Just some ordinary guy?
Are you ordinary?
Are you the type to marry?
Do you crave the same things that I do:
A never-ending love that always feels new
A partner in life to share things with
Someone to cuddle, someone to kiss?
I love you already, I just wish that I knew
Where you are, who you are, what you do.
I wait only for the day that we will meet,
Our hearts will mesh, and keep only one beat.
I can’t seem to find you
I know you’re looking too.
Our paths may have even crossed,
The chance for love momentarily lost
All we can do is keep searching and hope,
Swim through our feelings and try to cope.
This is why I’ve wished on every star, even a planet or two
Just waiting for my dreams to come true
I’m hoping that you will come soon
And give me the Earth, the moon
We could be galaxies apart
Each holding only half a heart
Although it often seems
That we can only hope to meet in our dreams
The day will come
When we are one
