Lex's scheme is really evil But fortunately Clark told Lois - so she will never learn that Clark "died" of anything else but of kryptonite. And who will have such a thing and know CK=S?

But there is hope?

Thanks, Jose, that was *very* fast. Unfortunately I need to go to bed since it's late here, and I have an early class tomorrow. But I'll catch up and give you some good feedback then, okay?

Guess this is where I bow out. frown

I don't find a lunkheaded Clark, but I do mind one who stretches credibility past my personal limit. WHY would he stick around for what he knew would be a kangaroo court? WHY allow Superman to be grounded in some little backcountry? Surely he would expect Superman's absence to be noticed in Metropolis? I simply cannot accept that Clark would willingly twiddle his thumbs in jail for a few days, then wait until he gets to a maximum security prison, where he will no doubt be under major scrutiny, to try and effect his escape.

I don't mention the K, since Clark doesn't know about it. But again, would Luthor take his only bit of the stuff and allow it to molder for a time in South America? Risk losing the only weapon against his nemesis entirely?

Why would the government get rid of Lois and allow her back to the States, where she can raise an unholy stink to get her fellow reporter back?

Part of me wishes you had left us with the first segment as a stand-alone story, because i really liked that. You are presenting us with a good setup for lots of Clark angst, but I'm afraid the path you took stretches my credibility threshold past the breaking point. I'll just look forward to your next story instead. smile

Hazel

No. No way. Obviously it's only just beginning...

I knew, of course, that something was going to go wrong on this trip, but never thought of drugs. Duh!

Lois said,

"They went to a lot of trouble to set you up and that kind of thing is traceable. It has to be.”
Ha! She doesn't know Lex very well, does she? By the time she manages to trace it, Clark could very well be... whinging

Just in case I need to say it, this is definitely evil evil

Ew is the Kryptonite going to be *in* the cell with Clark? This can't bode well for things.

Post more soon, I may have to wait until it's all done to read it though!

Lois: Can I go?
Clark: No.
Lois: Oh come on, Clark, why do we go through this? We both know I’m going to go.
Clark: Then why do you ask?
Lois: I’m trying to be nice.

It was easy to see it was Luthor doing this from miles away, but very clever for getting Clark out of the way. wink Very evil Hopefully, Clark figures it out soon. Lois probably wouldn't since she doesn't yet think Luthor's evil.

One question. How is it that the dog can smell something from quite a distance, yet Clark couldn't smell what was under his nose?

In a twist that I didn't think of initially, I guess Clark's destined to be trapped by Luthor in a cage with kryptonite, whether it be in Metropolis or some foreign country. frown

Hi,

Great part. help Luthor hate Lois. This is bad.
That is why she didn't want to tell Luthor.

evil Let Lois destroy Luthor.

Who told Luthor, where they were going, who was the person interview?
Is there a spy in the Planet?

More soon, please.

MAF

Don't like Luthor, unfinished, untitled and crossover story, and people that promises and don't deliver. I'm getting choosy with age.

I don't usually comment on comments, but there were a few I just couldn't ignore.

Melisma, sorry you couldn't find the first two parts. I've noticed some of your comments on stories lately and I'm looking forward to yours on this one.

Jose, thanks for steering Mel in the right direction for me and for the comments.

Gabriele, no one knows for sure CK=S. Lex is using K as insurance in case Supes decides he wants to help his friend escape.

Cyad, happy to help you get you your fix! Part four in a day or two... hopefully. RL is stomping my tail end! Oh, and this is for you... smile1

Meni, bless you. Soon, very soon.

Hazel, I can very easily see your points about CK being a lunkhead. I'd hoped I'd explained fairly clearly that his reasoning behind not revealing himself and escaping was to protect Lois and his parents. He didn't want to risk exposure and the possible consequences for those around him. And why would he believe he couldn't escape once he was put into a cell in the prison? He'd already reasoned that the prison he would be sent to would probably be nothing more than a hole in the wall... which translates to a perfect opportunity to leave unnoticed. Now to me, that's just like Clark to assume he can 'fix' things merely because he's Superman.-- You also have to remember, the government had nothing to do with this set-up. This was Luthor's doing. He simply paid for the necessary parts to be played. It's Luthor's hope that Lois will come home and suffer over her lover's death so he can comfort her... Hmm, not a bad idea.-- Sorry you feel like I should have left this at part one and that this stretches your credibility. A man who can fly, burn things with his eyes, look completely through things, do all those other... impossible things, and still live a normal life kind of stretches mine.I do hope you read on, but if not... I'm pleased you gave it a try. Writers always wish they could please every reader, every time. But alas, at some point you learn not to write for the reader as much as for yourself.

Kathy, my man!!! Er, woman!!! You completely get it! wave )overlooked that pesky detail. Guess that's why feedback can be beneficial.

Again, thanks to all staying with me on this one. I've tried my best to present the scenarios as realistically as possible. If I've lost anyone along the way or lose anyone in the future, let me say I hate it and will work harder to keep you interested!

Maria,

You posted before I could include your comments in mine.

More ticked because he became the jilted lover... so-to-speak. He wants to be the one holding Lois, but now it's simply for veangence sake.

I don't think there's a spy. Let's assume that with Luthor has enough $ to know everything about everything... for now. Keep reading. Your questions will be answered. thumbsup

Thanks, Maria. It's always nice to see your comments.

Interesting problem Luthor has presented to Clark and Lois.

I do have a question. We all know that Luthor is evil (almost as evil as Kaethel and Wendy) but why would he kill the person who is carrying out his plan for him? Especially afte he'd just finished giving him several instructions as to what to do with Kent, and the body, and the kryptonite. I can see Lex killing for fun, or to protect his identity, but apparently he still needs this guy.

Tank (who is looking forward to seeing a grieving Lois, but figures that the CK=S thingin will postpone that past the time where she will think he's in trouble... or not?)
