Hey, you all!
Wow! First, can I say we're both gobsmacked by the feedback we got for this one? Gobsmacked *and* thrilled!
Thank you all for making our day!
Okay, for some reason there seems to be a surge of violence towards one character in those posts:
Hooray for Lois finally realizing that . She's finally come to her senses.
... but Clark hasn't!
Uh-oh...
Now, slap the boy and get him to his senses quick!
Ouch!
I think I need to thwack Clark too.
Yikes!!
/me looks around for something to thwack Clark with.
Eeeeeeeeeeeep!
But if somebody else doesn't do it first, I will have to "thwack" Clark myself!!!
Watch Kaethel and Wendy drag Clark to some... remote, deserted (hee hee) place. For cover, of course. Nothing else on our mind. Wendy, go do... something, whatever you can think of, while I personally take care of my... er, *our* boy (and don't glare! The "my" was a slip. Honest! [eg]).
I can't believe Clark would act that shallow after what he told Lois.
Well, in all seriousness, I think that he has a lot more reasons not to believe Lois than to believe her. She had dismissed Clark quite easily when he told her as Superman that he loved her. And she didn't mean it as something hurtful, but if I had been in Clark's shoes, I wouldn't have taken it that way.
Then, of course, we have the opposite point of view:
Under these circumstances I can understand why Clark disbelieves her.
This Clark is way too selfless and saint-like in his introspection!
Saint Clark?? I wouldn't go that far!
He's hurting, true, but I also want to cut Lois some chase. After all, she thinks of Superman and Clark as two different men she's attracted to. It's bound to be downright confusing when both claim to be loving her.
I was ready to cheer when Lois cataloged the many ways she used Clark rather than befriended him during S1. Really, when did she treat him like a friend at all? The only thing Clark ever got out of the deal was proximity to Lois. No, I take that back: Lois was a pretty good friend when Clark was amnesiac in ASU. Other than that, nope, not really.
Well, you know we can only agree to disagree on this topic, Hazel.
Both of us love S1 Lois and think that despite the image she showed for the benefit of the public eye, she's a real softie at heart, she's vulnerable, and Clark and Superman were the only men able to go past her defences.
But all this is angst and more angst. Yawn. Waiting for the next part instead.
Sorry. [g] We occasionally enjoy some angst. And the first one who laughes at "occasionally" is going to have a close encounter with the disembowelling shears.
You two do like to make things complicated don't you?!?
Only *occasionally*. No, don't even *smile*! [bg]
One thing I'd like to address, though:
Evil. Evil, evil, evil, evil women. (Well, maybe not Wendy; I personally blame Kaethel. She is known as the evil one after all!)
What?????? When did *that* happen? Wendy is *the* Evil One! I'm innocent! Perfectly innocent! Oh, look, doves flying around! And little birds. And butterflies landing on my shoulders. See, if that's not the evidence of my innocence. Not to mention that one of my colleagues made me try on angel wings earlier today, which he made out of cardboard for a circus show he's preparing with his pupils. See, he chose *me* to try those angel wings on. Hah!
Anyway, back on track...
Mistresses of evil, Tank? *You* are the mistr... er, *master* of evil. We're mere beginners. [g]
