sure... a later scene from the same story... A small smile crossed his lips. "Wrong brown bag, Lois."
She smiled back up at him. "I figured." She turned back to the suitcase and pulled out a supersuit. "You only have one extra?"
Clark situated himself so he was leaning up against the closet door. He stared off into space and spoke softly. "No, there's more. I moved them behind the wine rack after the Diana Stride thing. That's my first one, with the original cape - I'm getting ready to take them to my mom. Did you notice the change?"
Lois held the cape up in front of her. "Yes, I noticed. It tucks more into your suit now rather than outside on top. I even mentioned it to Perry as a possibility for the fashion pages." She made a headline motion with one hand. "'New Trends in Superhero Attire' was my headline, but he didn't go for it." She picked at some invisible fuzz on the suit.
Clark looked at her, amazement in his eyes. "I wonder why that surprises me."
She blushed and picked at some more fuzz. "I was infatuated."
Clark grinned. "I noticed."
If she had to move heaven and Earth, perhaps come back to haunt Perry and explain the story after they'd killed her, she would do it.

I know, I know! It's "Torn, Dirty Shirt" by Carol M! Here's the next one: And to me, one night a month with you is better than every night with anyone else.
"Besides, baby," Lois continued softly, "I think you need me as much as I need you." With that she ran her fingers lightly down his cheek. "Please, don't send me away," she concluded on a whisper. "I don't think I could bear it."
Clark pulled in a sharp breath. Lois only ever called him baby when they made love, but in a way, wasn't that what she was doing right now? God, he loved this woman. How could he ever let her go - especially since he knew in his heart that she would fulfill her promise.
Clark: "You don't even know the meaning of the word 'humility,' do you?"
Lois: "Never had a need to find out its meaning."

Hee hee! I wasn't sure what the rules were about naming your own fic, but I recognized it the second time I read through the first clue [yeah, so I read too fast the first time ]. As for the new one... it sounds familiar but I'm not sure. Carol

Oh, I know this one! Yippee! I'm planning on jumping around the room excitedly as soon I manage to get my sorry old bones out of this chair. Now if I could only remember the name. It was written in 2007 and tells about when Clark's powers are overdrive so he's sleeping on the couch so that he doesn't hurt her. Instead Lois can't sleep and comes downstairs for a heart to heart. Elisabeth who is happy just to know one, even if the real honor will go to the person who remembers the title and the author

Finally I got it! This is The People v. Clark Kent by ML Thompson, a favourite of mine! Shame on me I didn't remember it before! Clark is imprisoned because he killed someone... but has he really done it? it's a must-read story Back in a few with a new quote... Ok, this is easy: "I'm not building you a baseball field," I blurted, thinking we might as well get that out on the table.
"Huh?"
"You know, like in that Kevin Costner movie, where the baseball players come out of the cornfield. Field of Dreams. We're not doing that here. This isn't even my corn."
He smiled. "I'm not a baseball player... and you don't look a thing like Kevin Costner."
Well, that was gratifying, even if it was completely beside the point. "Are you... you know... real?"
His eyebrows shot up to his hairline. "I certainly think so."
I went down the steps and edged a little closer to him. It was dusk now, and it was getting harder to make out details. "I mean, real in the sense of being... well, alive."
"You think I'm a *ghost*?"
"I kind of *hope* you're a ghost," I told him. Simona

Wow, I actually recognized one! It's Field of Dreams By Caroline K. Here's the next one: Mom?"
"Clark?" Martha's mother-son antennae were already quivering with his first word. "Clark, honey, are you all right?"
"Mom," he repeated, not sure how to continue.
"Clark, what is it?"
Martha waved at Jonathan to pick up the other phone.
"Mom, I've been shot." Saying it out loud made him shiver with fright. He took some deep breaths to steady his voice.
"Oh, dear God, Clark! Where are you? Do you need help?"
"Mom, it's OK, I'm at home. Lois took care of me."

Aw man! I knew that one too! This one is familiar but I'm not placing it at the moment... I think I even remember the plot and read it recently... /me will look in a bit Carol Edit: I GOT IT!!!! The wonderful Trust Me, I\'m a Reporter by Yvonne. I'll be back in a bit. He wanted to take her out again today! The long wait had been worth it, her dreams were finally coming true. She lowered her head and looked at him through her eyelashes. "That would be wonderful, Clark. What museum would you like to visit, the Field Museum or the Museum of Science and Industry?"
"I was thinking about the Louvre, actually," Clark said with a grin.
"The Louvre?" she stammered. "The real Louvre? That's in France!"
"Yes it is, but it's still early there and on Sunday they stay open a little later so we'll have plenty of time. We can hit a bistro on the Champs Élysées for lunch and then go wherever you'd like for dinner. It'll give you a chance to try out your new linguistic skills, too." With hope in his eyes, he asked, "What do you say?"
She jumped out of her chair, too excited to sit. "What do I say? Yes!" She ran over to him, threw her arms around his neck hugging him tightly. "Yes! I'd love to Clark; I've never been to France before! Do I need a passport?"
"No, Superman Airways doesn't stop for customs, so no passport is necessary," he said smiling.
She stepped back and ran her hand through her hair. "Of course. I'm just so excited! Oh, Clark, this is great! I've always wanted to visit the Louvre!"

This is It Might Have Been by Ray Reynolds. New quote: "How much do you see Superman?" repeated Brad.
"Does he ever come to dinner?" added Lisa.
"Come to dinner!" I said. "Superman! No! He never comes to dinner."
"Why not?" asked Lisa. "Doesn't he eat?"
"Yes--well, I don't know. I guess he eats, like anybody else does. But how should I know? I've never seen him."
"You've never seen Superman?" asked Lisa with round eyes. Brad was staring at me and even Mrs. and Mr. Green stopped chewing so they could listen to my answer.
"No! Why? Have you?"
"No, of course not!" said Lisa. "But you must have seen him sometime! Your parents are such good friends of his!" I could only look at her as if she had lost her mind.

This is My Adventures with Superman by Kathryn Ann Kent. New Quote: Clark turned to her suddenly, a feeling of shame running through him. "I wasn't really thinking clearly. I should have asked, I guess I was just so confused about everything..." He rambled off quickly, then let his words hang.
Lois almost reached over to place her hand over his comfortingly, but caught herself. Clark, however, noticed the gesture. He looked at her blankly, which in turn caused a twang of sadness to run through her.
"Clark, believe me, it's not your fault that your mind was on other things last night. You had plenty of other stuff to think about than the hard facts. Hey, can you imagine what *I* would have been like?" she said with a bark of laughter. Tricia

That's The Hand that Rocks by Christy Landrum. Next One.. "Clark?" she asked quietly.
He pulled her into a tight embrace and whispered into her ear. "They have this place bugged."
For a moment Lois shrank into Clark's embrace, looking blindly around as if to see the armies of roaches and rats which were surely waiting in the darkness.
Then she relaxed, finally getting his meaning. It was a sign of the pain she was in that she was so slow on the uptake. Usually she was a step or two ahead of everyone else, and it was all Clark could do to keep up with her.
She whispered in his ear. "They have Kryptonite bullets. We have to get out of here... and warn Superman."
Lois obviously wasn't sure about how sharp the microphones were, and was playing her bets safe.
If she had to move heaven and Earth, perhaps come back to haunt Perry and explain the story after they'd killed her, she would do it.
