Okay, I'm just going to go ahead and post the authors and who wrote what. I'll put a little spoiler space in case anyone would like to still guess on their own. I had a lot of fun watching all of the guesses. I hope you guys did too. Sorry I didn't work out this whole guessing thing a little better!

Can we post how well we did here?

I skimmed the fic, made a guess, then checked it out. I was able to guess EditorJax, Laura S., QotC, symbolicangel, and CarolM, besides my own.

Good Job, People.

I got Jax, Sue and DJ. Pathetic in the end, I know *hangs head* (and I thought I was off to such a good start...) But at least I got the Sue one, I would have felt bad if I had missed hers.

Alas! Despite my overall suckiness, this was was still fun. Is it me or did "True Colors" (the other nfic) get left out? I wanted to see who wrote that one.

Well, I did just about as well as I expected to, considering I can't figure out the concept of a writing style, let along recognise individual ones. laugh

This was lots of fun though and I'm delighted that it resulted in so many new stories posted on the mbs. Remember to send them all along to the Archive!

And a big round of applause to Laura for organising it all! clap clap clap

Mostly, the thing I looked for was a hint of a subject or trademark. For Laura S, it was the setting being Smallville. For EditorJax, it was New Orleans. For QotC, it was a killer punch line.

Well, now I'm sorry we didn't have a guessing competition because I did better than I thought I would laugh .

*consults geeky spreadsheet*

I got Sue, Jax, the first of Laura S's, both of LaraMoon's, DJ, QotC, D8a, and Erin Klingler. I only got DJ and Erin after I saw the author list, though smile .

This was fun, Laura. Thanks for organizing it!

I will as soon as I write part 2 of mine, Trading Places: Sunnydale Style, where we find out what happened to Lois and Clark over in the Buffy universe.

James, who did, at least get one of Elisabeth's stories. I never would have guessed her for A Vision in White(you did good, honey!)

I didn't finish guessing, but I was way off on the ones I did guess on. I only had two right--EditorJax on Southern Nights, and Elisabeth on A Vision in White--neither of which I mentioned in the the fdk thread.

Thanks for organizing this, Laura! It was a lot of fun.

Naturally, *none* of my feeble attempts at guessing hit the mark.

But this was fun!!! Can we do it again? hyper

Well, I got one right (but I haven't gotten to read them all yet). I guess doing a GE on one of Caroline's recent fics made me recognize hers. And, of course, I'm not counting the ones that I knew who wrote them...

Grrr, here I am, sending in a story (the nfic one) that is completely out of character for me, and then we get told who wrote what right after my story is posted. I guess I wrecked my nice-little-girl reputation for naught. frown

Oh well, it still was fun. And I'm still looking forward to the next time we're having a 'guess the author'.

I'm happy to say that I can guess my own work 100% of the time. wink Other than that you could say that I'm a nice gal, but not very bright. goofy If I hadn't caught a glimpse of story notes on my hubby's computer (so sorry, dear) I would have even thought his work was that of Marcus Rowland.

The closest I got was for The Perfect Costume, where I said

Plan C is that I guess that this particular piece was written by Lara Joelle Kent, simply because I think this author was being trickier than most and this piece doesn't match her style.
Which is code talk for, "I haven't got a clue, but I haven't guessed her, yet." dizzy I thought she had written two pieces since I thought the other matched her style more. Of course, that was really Woody.

I hope it makes ya'll feel really smart to have me around.

Drat! Foiled again.
There are worse things that can catch you up. He could have said, "For QotC, it was her inability to spell Loise and Clerk."

Psst, JoJo, it was Laura, although I'm sure Lara would love to take the credit.

Also, as far as Queenie's story, I did guess her for Hey, Sailor, but when posting what gave her away, I thought it was The Ball is in Your Court, which had a great punch line (yay for Lara-hey, she's been mistaken for someone else twice). So I have to rescind that comment about what gave her away. I think what made me guess her was the style of humor that I've seen in her other fics, and that sheep thing was kind of suspicious since she just started a fic based off a LabRat idea. Yeah, *that* sheep thing. But your punch line was great too.
