Hmm. So, they just announced to the DP newsroom that Lois is pregnant but L&C aren't married. This can only mean one thing.
Shotgun wedding!
... Oh, wait. He's Superman. Shotguns don't work on him.
Except that he's not Superman. He's just Clark. Poor guy.
Speaking of which...
Half of him - the Clark half - had been robbed from him in his home universe. And here the opposite was true. In both worlds, he was robbed of a piece of himself.
Wow. Very nice, Sara!
I am a bit surprised that he didn't go try to help out without being seen. That was his M.O. when he was with Lana. Guess it's a little riskier here, especially since it wouldn't just be himself he was risking. People know how to recognize Superman now, and Superman isn't supposed to be on Earth.
Hadn't thought of Lois's side of that, either. Sheesh. They're both hurting, aren't they?
Curse you, Herbert George Wells!
Which is precisely why you need to *make* him talk, Lois.
“Clark?”
He looked up at her and the pain in his eyes tore at her.
“Talk to me, Clark.”
On the one, hand... Ouch. I feel for both of them here. Well done.
On the other hand... Way to go, Lois. There's that famous Lane subtlety and cunning. :p
You know, poor Clark is sitting there tearing himself up because he has the power to help but he can't use it. He can hear the distress calls, he knows that if only he didn't have to protect the secret he could go out and save them. Kind of like the way things were before he had a secret identity, really.
He can't have these powers and not help. He can't let people know that Superman is around. Clearly, there's only one thing to do.
He has to go to S.T.A.R. Labs, borrow the Kryptonite, and get rid of those powers!
I mean, really. It's not like he could go and create another identity with the same powers and expect that people won't put 2 and 2 together. In the short term, Kryptonite would hurt, but not as much as hearing calls and not helping. The pain would wear off a lot quicker, too...
Anyway... I like Lois's pain snapping Clark out of his pain. Painful, but a nice touch. Amusing, too.
Then... wow. What an ending. Poor Lois. Poor Lois's baby. I'd hate to have to grow up with *that*... Yeesh.
Looking forward to seeing more of this, Sara, and hopefully some happy stuff soon...
