Wow, go Lois! Just as you think Clark's skull is completely, hoplessly invulnerable, in comes Lois Lane, Unstoppable Force. That took quite a bit of doing, but she actually managed it!

That was really impressive. I don't know how she had the patience to chip away at his layers of lunkheadedness like that, but she did it. Must have been because she knew it was worth it.

That was a very cool read.

Great to see them both lay all the cards on the table.

Nice to see my vaugue intuition about Lois's pregnancy was right, but I'm still very impressed by how well and how long you managed to keep me guessing. I think CC was more right than she knew in the CYGTW thread...

Some very funny moments here, too.

All in all, great job! Looking forward to part 10. smile

(EDITING, because I realized this morning that most FoLCs don't watch cartoons as often as I do. See, there's this unwritten cartoon rule that says Zeno's Paradox may come up once (and only once) during the run of a superhero cartoon, as a way to add a tidbit of intellectualism to an otherwise action-oriented episode. This happens once every few years on some show or other, and to me it's on the road to beoming a cliche.

To those not familiar with cartoons, it's probably an obscure bit of ancient philosophy. It's amazing what you can learn from cartoons.

Zeno was a greek philosopher who once posed the following question as an intellectual excersize:

What would happen if an irresitstable/unstoppable force was to meet an immovable/invulnerable object?

People have pondered the question, but have never come up with a satisfactory answer. Mostly, they've resorted to clever little loopholes resulting from the translation. The force passes through the object, the object stays in place but shatters, etc.

Now, nearly 2500 years after the question was posed, Meredith posts this, and, as I was reading, I couldn't help but think that this part was the single best demonstration of Zeno's Paradox that I've ever seen. Clark's maddeningly invulnerable skull. The irresistable force that is Lois Lane. Clashing again and again until, finally... resolution.

So, what happens when an irresistable force meets an invulnerable object? She pounds away until finally he sees sense! And also other things, like arms and legs and...)

When in doubt, think about penguins. It probably won't help, but at least it'll be fun.

LOL again, Paul! The fun feedback on this story has been one of the most enjoyable parts of posting it. goofy

Ok, hats off...

Glad you enjoyed it, Julia... and yes, there might be a smoochie or two left to go, as well as a last trick up my sleeve. wink

On with part 10!
